UTSA/Texas State Game Thread *I-35 Rivarly*
Playing UNT has slightly filled the void over the last few years but it is finally back, the I-35 Rivalry game between UTSA and Texas State. 05-mafia

Texas State or Southwest Texas or Southwest Texas Teacher's College has always been UTSA's rival going back to the Southland Conference days. I'm so pumped our administration decided to slot these games in the schedule every year going forward.

With a short 20 minute drive up to San Marcos, Texas I can tell you that UTSA will be there in force. We are taking everyone and will make this a home game on enemy soil.

Texas state has a pretty solid defense but I don't think they are ready for Dalton Sturm and the Roadrunner defense that looks to be the best group we have had yet.

I am excited this series is back as well. The defenses of both schools seem to be pretty good this year.

We're excited too! I went to y'alls game against Baylor and was very impressed with your QB I hope we don't let him run all over us. Hopefully our run D will keep on keeping on so y'all can't hit us on play action like y'all did to Baylor.

I'm a bit surprised that the Sun Belt boards are picking Texas State to win this game without even flinching.

Probably just wishful thinking and as one of your guys was posting on another thread, a lack of respect, but for UTSA's young program.

This game is a really good idea. It has all the makings of a great rivalry. It just needs a little time. The last crowd was 39K---thats one of the better Alamodome crowds so far (I believe it is their best crowd for G5 visitor). I suspect it will be a sell out in SanMo. I think this is going to be fun series for both schools and over time--I think it will become the kind of game that fans look forward to and draws interest well beyond each schools fanbase.

Love the Texas State write up mostly because it is so true. To be honest, I wouldn't be that surprised with a sellout at Bobcat Stadium

I think most of us are expecting this to be a sellout.

UTSA defense is currently ranked 6th overall and TXST offense 115th overall. I think TXST will have trouble scoring and stopping UTSA passing game.

UTSA---27
TXST---9

TXST has a top defense as well. I agree UTSA has the better offense though but 27 seems high.

Pretty cool Keys to the Game write-up from our friends at SWC Roundup

https://swcroundup.com/news/2017/9/19/ke...exas-state

I would just add that Dalton Sturm looks unflappable this year. I've seen so many plays where is simply stepping up in pocket to make a throw while be engulfed by defenders or throwing with pinpoint precision while rolling out of the pocket.
