He knows SMU is catching up. I expect that series to not get renewed in the future.

TCU has out recruited SMU every year for over a decade - ranking an average 50 places higher just in the last 4 years, which would include current starters and reserves. They benefit from playing in a higher profile conference, which dumps money on them even in bad years.

Even the casual fan noted the difference in size and speed between the two teams up and down the depth chart. And yet, they were a hail mary pass completion from going into the half down by 1.

Patterson is a $^%$&. But he is also a good coach, who knows if they repeat this type of effort, they will lose to several Big 12 teams.

I have watched the game a few times now. I'm proud of our effort. We had our chances to pull this out, including many red zone visits that ended in 3s or no points. SMU has to keep winning, and keep improving our recruiting efforts. TCUs conference affiliation will continue to give them a clear advantage until something drastic changes.

Keep improving SMU. Beat TCU but somehow lose to Tulsa Cane!

eff Gary Patterson and TCU. Maybe Jank will bring up the fact that we've won four straight in hoops and lead the series all-time 106-85.

Patterson is 14-2 at TCU vs SMU...including winning the last 6 games in a row, and 10 out of the last 11.

Strange stat in this series: 3 out of the last 4 years, TCU has scored 56 pts vs SMU.

Also, average score in those 6 wins in a row by TCU:

46 - 18

This is the year I think TCU beats us in basketball

No doubt they have dominated us in football the past 15 years but we won 15 straight (1972-1986). Most rivalries go through periods where one team dominates. Personally, I care more about how we have a comfortable lead over them in hoops.

But seriously, I'm not sure how anyone can know what we have right now. We have a lot of talented pieces but they haven't played together. I'm confident we will compete for the conference but early on could be an adventure. I do wish we had McMurray for TCU, USC and Atlantis.

Yep. Patterson is a twit but he can talk smack because his team has won 6 in a row in the series.
