Also watched a post-game presser by Mike Riley. Don't think he ever gave any credit to NIU for anything, unless I briefly dozed off while listening to him droning on about everything.
I'll give Riley a pass on that, when you have the cornmonsters and the corn boogiemen out for your head in mob fashion, the last thing you probably want to do is give credit to the MAC school that beat you at home as opposed to being critical of yourself.
I won't give him a pass on it. The AD didn't give any credit either. Another video I watched they were interviewing someone and he acted like it only gets tougher with all their games in the Big 14, including Rutgers. I got news for him - Rutgers would struggle in the MAC West.

RE: NIU/Nebraska Highlights
From Phil Rosenthal's column in today's Trib. LOL at Les Miles.
Quote:Miles off: Poor broadcast partners Tim Brando and Spencer Tillman — and Northern Illinois fans — got saddled with former LSU coach Les Miles in his debut as a Fox Sports 1 analyst for the Nebraska-NIU game Saturday. It’s anyone’s guess why Fox thought it was a good idea to make Miles’ first assignment a game at Nebraska, where his son Ben is a freshman fullback. But it was “we” this and “we” that as NIU pulled off the road upset. Brando, a seasoned play-by-play man, and fellow analyst Tillman repeatedly steered Miles back to neutrality, amused by the challenge late in the game. “Boy,” Brando said, “can you imagine what he’s going to be like when his son actually plays?”

A passing good word would have been nice, but if you want to get an already irate Nebraska fanbase even madder, the "We got outplayed by a MAC team at home" response would probably do it. These guys are under a tremendous after of pressure right now, and its better for their job security to take the "we need to better route" instead of "we got outplayed by a MAC team route". Their fanbase wants the angry Ditka mentality right now

RE: NIU/Nebraska Highlights
I thought Riley did everything right during the game. He gave his team every opportunity to win. Yes, the penalties and the drops really cost them and that might be on him for the recruiting, practice, sense of urgency, execution, but he really did put his team in the best position to win during the game. He went for it on fourth down and the play calling, besides Lurry's pick six (Lurry read that like a book), put his team in the best position to win the game.

They don't have to say they got outplayed. Just say that NIU gets some credit for playing well, mostly on defense. Most coaches would say that much at least.

I love Lurry's pick 6. He intercepted that pass and just look at this body language as he starts running:
"No one is going to catch me no sir nope not gonna happen no grandstanding go full speed holy shite this is a pick 6 at Nebraska shhhhhhhhhh."

RE: NIU/Nebraska Highlights
Remember when Lynch gave a to the crowd at a road game after a long TD run? (Army?) He got flagged for "unsportsmanlike".
Thought Lurry was going to get one.... Of course, he later did after Corcoran's INT. He is one cocky S.O. ......

haah I hear you. I have really really binged on the highlights from this game, to the unhealthy level. Glad Im not alone
The last 5 minutes of that FS1 broadcast is pure gold too. To hear Miles hardly even be able to get a word out at the end, is beyond hysterical. And just to hear Brando give credit to NIU no like no other announcer I have ever heard, is just so so so awesome.

I keep watching it over and over. Drawn to it. I was disappointed the last two times we played in Lincoln, NOT this time!!

Does anyone have this game saved somewhere? The links don't work anymore, looks like they took them off Youtube.
