2017 Scheduling Oddities
A few things I've noticed:
Mercer plays at both Alabama and Auburn. No team in the SEC East faces both of them this season, and it would never be possible for a team to play at both schools in the SEC's current format.
Alabama would currently sit atop the Mountain West at 2-0 if it were a member. Boise State is the only other Mountain West program with a conference victory so far.
Alabama A&M has zero FCS opponents on their non-conference schedule. So far the Bulldogs are 0-3 against FBS competition, and will close out the season against Division II Kentucky State.
All four of UAB's opponents in November have blue in their colors, and the last theee have some variation of orange and blue.
Four of Kentucky's first five opponents have directional names (Southern Miss, Eastern Kentucky, South Carolina, Eastern Michigan).

The only 2 SEC schools which can EVER play both Alabama and Auburn under the current format are Tennessee and Georgia.
Meanwhile, Ole Miss and Mississippi State could play both Kentucky and Vanderbilt some seasons. In fact, this year Ole Miss does play both KY and Vandy while Kentucky plays both Ole Miss and MSU.
Think any of that affects the SEC division races?

Kent State opened the season with Clemson and will play Louisville next week.
Same scenario with your OP, no Coastal Division team will play both in the regular season.

Southern Illinois had their open date, first week of the season. Scheduling quirk there.

Felt weird to have Ohio State playing Army the same day Michigan was playing Air Force

RE: 2017 Scheduling Oddities
Syracuse has played the Blue Devils of Central Connecticut State, and the Blue Raiders of Middle Tennnessse, but can only face the Blue Devils of Duke in the ACC Championship Game. They are the only non-SEC team to face two sets of Tigers (LSU and Clemson).
Auburn one-ups them in the Tiger fight by playing LSU, Clemson, and Missouri.
Arkansas is the only school to face multiple A&Ms: Texas A&M and Florida A&M. Alabama A&M has no common opponents with Florida A&M.

Last season (or maybe the season before that) Clemson played North, South, East, and Western Carolina in baseball.

We haven't played East Carolina in baseball in years.
