Just defeated a top 25 school on National TV.

Have a major AAC test the following week on the road.

And we are just playing a FCS school at home.

Only issue is that it is a very good FCS team.

They are top 20 nationally in a number of FCS stats.

If our heads are not on straight then they can make a game out of it.

The Salukis are a nice FBS school but have about a .01% chance to keep up with Memphis.

Is that accurate? I don't think that's right. Don't they play in the MVC?

Correct. FCS.

I just need to stick to 1A and 1-AA.

BTW, SIU was 4-7 last year.

That's probably similar to what UCLA said last week.

Yeah, except UCLA was about a 3.5 point favorite.

Memphis, based on Sagarin rankings, is about a 28 point favorite.

Well daie 2-0 now, baby...

I mean, I don't doubt we should win, and win convincingly, but they might be a lot better this year than last year, and we need to guard against overconfidence... which I'm sure Coach Norvell is on top of it. But you know about 20 year old kids these days...

RE: Trap Trap avoid the Trap
As the Salukis, I expect them to pick a couple of plays from their playbook that they think some stats support as potential winners, and run them. Over and over and over. Very predictable.

I kid. Partially.

That explains a lot. Wolo and Dempsey. We should avoid anyone from there at all costs. Too bad we couldn't buy them out and keep GaState

UCLA was a 3.5 point favorite, 80% of the money was coming in on UCLA and the line did not move. Vegas did well on the game.

Note- per vegasinsider, we are 10 point favorites. That is not huge.

Link?

If that is really the case, people need to jump all over that.

SIU is unranked (receiving 0 votes) in the latest FCS poll.

For comparison, Temple was a 17 point favorite over Villanova, who was ranked #8 in FCS.

Yeah, I'm calling bullsh*t on that. Maybe one single book out there has Memphis -10.

we will be 3 or 4 TD favorites AT least when a line comes out.

Lines come out very late in the week for Div1aa games

Isn't that the same percentage John Martin gave on chances of Austin Nichols signing with Memphis?

Still at -10. That is the VI consensus number.

Are we really at the point where you cannot access vegasinsider without a link? Seems off to me too, but man how hostile? I can only assume similar hostilities from the blocked ones too. A sweet feature. I am just the messenger in a message board...would have suspected if a line that it would be about 28, but it is listed at 10.[/align]

If you look at it though, none of the actual sites have a line, so you can't bet -10 anywhere. Thus, it's not a real line. When the real line comes out it won't be -10. Guaranteed.

We were actually ranked above UCLA in the pre season polls

Their TAMU win vaulted them up

The -10 means the juice is 10%. Its not the line. Look at all the other games on there. It might say -3 -10. There might be a # on Tigers that comes out Friday or Saturday on some offshore books. 1-AA teams don't usually have a line.

I recall a keys to game report one time when one of the keys for a team to win was Show Up at Stadium. That team lost the game.

On a side note the CA is reporting that Norvell was very upset with the way the team practiced on Wednesday.

So at least the coaching staff is not over looking SIU and they are concerned that the team may be.
