RE: Congrats Tim Lester
Pretty cool that the players presented Tim with the game ball last night...

Well, that'd be Very fine & dandy. NIU was 12-0 that next year (but lost to BGSU & Matt Johnson in the MAC Championship game to thwart a 2nd BCS game). I'd be fine with that! :)

I think only a fool should expect us Right after our senior-laden year going 13-0, to be close to that year in / year out after that. With PJ & his OC/DC, we'd be 1-2 right now, and wouldn't have done any better against @USC, that's for sure.

I think the real concern is not not being Top 8 G5 team the next year -- but instead, the choices of play calling, our lack of running game against... Idaho (and MSU that could have been better of course), and our WRs along with our QB development all being sub-par.

Wassink showed better passing this past game, even when it wasn't anything special (thanks WRs) -- but 4th quarter showed he can be a leader. How many blah-quarters we'll have? We shall see. Hopefully the Wagner game will polish them some more, and we can go 6-2 in conference play -- and end up 8-4. That's the Ideal, IMO.

Lester has definitely been consistent in his post games about delivering his message about the fact that he doesn't want to rush and ruin Wassink's confidence.... we have him for two more years after this season so it bodes well that the coaches bring him along the best way possible as they allow the offense to find its identity... What we saw in that second half was some of that identity start to show itself... We are starting to look like some of those NIU teams of about 5 or so years ago... We have a good running game and a passing game that is predicated on the possibility that the QB just tucks it and runs for 10 or so yards... When teams start to have to spy Wassink we might see some better match ups down field not to mention a LB that isn't keying on our RB's... just a thought...

You're an idiot if you think anybody here realistically expected this.
