As a UT alum and lifelong Tigers fan who went to today's fantastic game, I would say it's a fair question to ask for 2017. I give the offensive and coaching edge to Memphis, defensive edge to UT.

For 2017, if they were to play on a neutral site tomorrow, I give the edge to Memphis.

Memphis has had a better coach than UT for the past 6 years. I would give the Tigers a good chance in that matchup.

I think Memphis is more talented that UT. Offensively, UT is completely one dimensional with Kelly being their only threat. However, that only threat is a huge threat. My question is if we would be beat Vanderbilt or not. They have looked really impressive. Their defense is stout, and Shurmur is quite underrated. I think offensively we are better for sure, but defensively they kill us.
