Great post. Thanks for sharing that.

I like Les not upset at all what the Mad Hatter had to say especially with Brando & Tilman making comments. The booth was NOT one side and Les made some good observations. Like just NIU is pushing Nebraska off the line on a key 3rd and 4.

Good stuff.

I like Les. I am an LSU fan since I was little, but he was getting a little over the top. It was beginning to sound like a hometown call by all of them even, like they needed the B10 to win for FS1 ratings.

That said, not much really upset (maybe because NIU won) me other than the line that went something like "Come on (Nebraska) need to play better. You want the team with more talent (or he said best team maybe) to win the game."

Really? I guess they shouldn't play the games. And if that was true, I guess LSU should never have lost more than 1 game a year under his tenure. Maybe to Alabama, and even then at times they have had more. He should have won about 4 NCAA titles. Really idiotic to say that as a coach, even if your kid plays for them.

Yeah, you could hear all the groans and sighing when terrible things happened to the Huskers. :-)

I have a former co-worker (husker fan) who also noticed the booth was in the tank for Nebraska. He enjoyed that, but we got the last laugh.

Great post. Thanks for sharing that.

I watched the game and recorded it at the same time. I replayed the (4th quarter) punt and subsequent call by the announcer numerous times. The comment about the son made no sense. Reading the link provided clarity and made unfortunate sense! The announcers were homers for the Huskers.

No question that the announcers were Husker homers - big time. It was disgusting and annoying many times. I'm glad the Huskies made them look like the fools they are.

That was as painful as listening to David Ross and Rick Sutcliffe announce a Cubs - Sox game with Benetti. Just absolutely brutal.

I have Comcast-western suburbs and FSI is on "On Demand," but it may take a few days for it to show up. They had ECU-WVU from last week available today.

Could it show up on ESPN3? Could check to see.

No. Won't be on ESPN3 different network(ABC and Fox). It is on various times on Fox college sports channel throughout the week. It is apparently edited to fit the 3 hour time but it doesn't seem to miss much

Even outside of the homer/not homer debate...Les was just bad, tough to listen to. I understand it's his first game, but whew that was rough.

Even with Les' difficulty containing his passion for his son's team, I thought that as a team the announcers showed NIU a ton of respect.

Our Defense is loaded with talent this year and they sung their praises throughout the game. The network never should have put him in this situation especially for his first broadcast.

I was at the game and kept seeing on Twitter that the female sideline reporter made a snarky comment about the 15 NIU fans in attendance chanting "NIU, NIU" after one of the early scores...any truth to that???

I was at the game, but also heard the same thing about those comments. I was told we sold out our ticket allotment. I was at the Illinois-Nebraska game last year. Sat in the Illinois seats, which was the exact same section. We had just as many fans at the game on Saturday as the Illini did last year.

Watched the highlights on the Big 10 network and those guys were somber to say the least which annoys the hell out of those who understand the quality, if not quantity of athletic ability in the MAC. So unprofessional, and to have a guy announcing with his kid on the field and not bending over backward to be objective is sophomoric and insulting, but I don't know, professional standards may not matter anymore.

Yes, she said 15 NIU fans in attendance.

You could hear NIU! NIU after the pick 6's!

Female sideline reporters never make mistakes. Maybe all 15 NIU fans in attendance had megaphones?

The NIU-Nebraska game is now on "On Demand" on FS1 on Xfinity/Comcast in the western suburbs.
