Yeah. Did you see their reason?

They didn't realize people considered the title "fellow" an honor.

Seriously?

Seriously?

Guarantee you the real reason for backtracking was that some rich donor(s) called and threatened to withhold funds.

I'm surprised they didn't double down and recruit Bergdahl.

He's still a white male. Lose the dick and they might.

At the very least cut off from the intelligence community and perhaps the related jobs. Dean needs to be fired.

RE: Harvard makes Chelsea Manning a "fellow"
Chelsea Manning, the former US soldier who leaked hundreds of thousands of state secrets and served seven years in military prison, abruptly terminated a phone call with the dean of the Harvard Kennedy school in an expression of her dismay at his decision to revoke her visiting fellowship in the face of severe pressure from the CIA.

Harvard University has rescinded an offer to make Chelsea Manning a visiting fellow after the director of the CIA, Mike Pompeo, cancelled an appearance at the university.
“I now think that designating Chelsea Manning as a visiting fellow was a mistake, for which I accept responsibility,” said the dean of the Kennedy School, Douglas Elmendorf.

Glad they did cancel, but Harvard has a bunch of out of touch numbskulls running it to even consider appointing Manning to a position.

The dean had all the necessary info when he made the initial decision. In his eyes it wasn't a mistake. The real mistake is that he is so out of touch with reality and got a wake up call because of that fact.

All they did was cancel the guest fellow for him. He's still invited to speak on his trans whatever stuff. Which... is still despicable. Not because he's trans, but because he's an awful human in general and Harvard would have no idea who he is had he not become a traitor.

Fck Harvard and all they pretend to stand for.

And I thought the way we got Chelsea was that Bradley was a fellow and decided that he didn't want to be one.

RE: Harvard makes Chelsea Manning a "fellow"
NYT totally misses the point again. But this certainly explains some things. The clown who offered Manning the fellowship:

"The dean of the school, Douglas W. Elmendorf, is the former director of the Congressional Budget Office."

He's still invited to speak, just rescinded the fellow.

It's about as much the "right thing" as being sorry you got caught and not sorry you did something wrong.

Anyone can speak at a university, unless, well, you are to the right side of Lenin on the political spectrum. Then you have modern day facists bashing heads with bike locks, burning cars, and smashing businesses in the area.

But hey, at least you got the pronoun right.

I do. His corpse should be rotting away right now.

I agree in general but not to the level I think we should be outside our process here.

I found this funny:

Synopsis of Manning ---

fellow --> not fellow; fellow --> not fellow

Nobody seems to want to claim themselves as the "Harvard of the South" anymore.
