Susan Rice’s “unmasking” scandal was about something worse
Linky

Five months after House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes tried to create a fake scandal over Susan Rice unmasking senior Trump officials, the former national security adviser for President Barack Obama has been vindicated.

Rice privately told House investigators that she unmasked the identities of senior Trump officials to learn more about why they met with the crown prince of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after the 2016 election, according to CNN. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan had visited New York City in December to meet with Michael Flynn, who Trump would appoint as national security adviser, as well as future chief strategist Steve Bannon and son-in-law Jared Kushner.

WTF?

WTF?

lol....and what about all the unmasking PRIOR to the election. Vindicated my azz. Might be the weakest Obama administration lie since "Bengazi is about a YouTube video".

Why can't they talk to the UAE? That's one of the few ME countries we've had a relatively "good" relationship with.

And the team of the President elect can't meet with foreign leaders? Obama had his panties in a bunch because Saudi didn't get his blessing for the meeting first.

Not even President elect yet,

Obama, like Romney, embarked on a foreign trip as a candidate, meeting face-to-face with leaders such as Afghan President Hamid Karzai, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert (headline: "Obama Talks Tough About Iran During Visit to Israel"). But he also placed several phone calls. http://foreignpolicy.com/2012/09/28/did-...s-in-2008/

Sometimes people should do a little research before they post stuff thinking it is some sort of a scoop. All this shows is that Susan Rice is disgusting slimeball.

And while I doubt it, hopefully a disgusting slimeball living in an orange jumpsuit.

Why an incoming Admin talking to allies is even interesting or a curiosity to the prior admin is beyond me. I would think that would be common and encouraged.

What's really news here is that this liar Rice just freaking admitted that Trump tower was in fact bugged/surveilled whatever you'd call that AND she was leaking the unasked names all across the crooked prior admin.

Trump was right all along it seems.

Again, as a reminder on the actual process of unmasking, Rice would not have known who the people were when she requested that the names being unmasked!

And the IC had to approve the unmasking.

It's not, as Rice would likely not have known it was someone actually in the new administration in the intel as the name would have been redacted.

And it is common and encouraged to talk to foreign governments prior to taking office. However, it's usually not hidden where it needs to be picked up by our intelligence surveillance of foreign actors.

Do it in the open and disclose it on your security clearance forms as well as in your confirmation hearings and then it's basically a non story.

FYI - This is per Seth Abramson. I haven't verified this as accurate, but it's gotta be close. Team trump brought any Russia scrutiny all on themselves. Why anyone has sympathy for them on it is beyond me.

Why was she even asking? She's a freaking advisor to the president, not an FBI agent or CIA spook.

How was the Flynn tapes then leaked just days or a couple weeks later? Odd coincidence, no?

And when pres-elect Trump tweeted I just found out prior Admin had me bugged (or whatever the 007 era quote was), he was apparently telling the truth and Rice just copped to it.

All the faux OUTRAGE!!!! Over that was just that-another phony put up job between the prior crooked admin and the VFN industrial complex.

Dude...c'mon...this is not that ancient of history for you to misrepresent it so badly. You're better than this.

trump said: "Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!"
https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/stat...06?lang=en

That can in no way be construed to say he was talking about Rice requesting that names of random Americans be unmasked in intelligence reports.

Not to mention, this claim by trump has been thoroughly rebuked.
No evidence to support Trump's claim that Obama wiretapped Trump Tower, DOJ says

We'll find out when Mueller is done. And no, I am in no way implying that anyone did anything wrong other than failing to disclose some required contacts on official documents and in sworn testimony.
