Memphis @ Georgia State
The AAC and Memphis are trying to buy out this game on 9/30 so they can use this date to make up their game with UCF. UCF is trying to do the same with Maine.

Harvey and Irma have caused havoc on the football season, and who knows if another storm will develop and upset things even worse.

GaSt, take the money, have Maine come in and try again for an FCS win.

We don't need another FCS loss!

I think we'd prefer to play Memphis. People from Memphis and GSU are looking forward to the game. I hope it doesn't get cancelled.

I wonder how much that'll cost Memphis? That would really suck for GSU to have to play a second FCS team but I get that the G5 conference called the AAC is trying to maintain a conference game.

Words is buyout is $800k plus expenses. Not a small check.

Add a replacement game and make it happen. We lost a game at LSU last year, I know it wasn't a home game, but still sucked to lose it. A lot of fan bases are being effected by these storms.

Eh, i'm gonna guess their fans would be more than ok with playing UCF instead. And it's more than likely that this is going to happen.

Why would Memphis fans be looking forward to this game?

Just the easy road trip, more than anything. I was looking forward to seeing the stadium. But at the end of the day, if the conference game can be played, that has to be the priority for us. I know it sucks for Georgia State.

GSU definitely has leverage in this situation either way the apple falls. Honestly, they need this game more than they need another FCS. With a new coach trying to figure out his best players, Georgia State may not be as bad as they appeared in Week 1. Memphis would be a good opportunity to reflect improvement whereas an FCS team would be a let down.

Possibly get the Sun Belt involved as it is the AAC trying to reschedule a conference game. Force Memphis to agree to return to GSU another time and schedule a one off at Arkansas State.

Apparently the correct answer was $$$. I would like to see what GSU or the Belt gets in return for the cancellation.

We have a four game series with Memphis coming up.

RE: Memphis @ Georgia State
Georgia State has zero leverage if Memphis is prepared to cut a check for the liquidated damages part of the contract.
