UC Football Schedule change due to Irma
Cincinnati
Cincinnati will play at USF Saturday, Oct. 14 and will have its open date Oct. 28 (replacing an Oct. 14 open date and the game at USF Oct. 28).

RE: UC Football Schedule change due to Irma
Now the 21st is actually Homecoming, insteadofjust coming off of a BYE.

Gives us an opportunity to make some adjustments before 4 beatable opponents. Nothing I don't like about this.

The last four games after the bye should wins or at least 3-1. The key is to be 4-4 or better going in the last four games. Miami OH this week is almost a must win to get to a bowl game and a winning season. Lost to Miami OH and UC will probably be 1-3 going in the middle four game where finding two or three wins isn't going to be easy as SMU and UCF look a lot better than I thought this year.

During the pre-season I picked a loss to Miami and ECU but wins over UCF over SMU. I almost inclined to flip those games as Miami and ECU are bottom level FBS teams while UCF and SMU look like they might compete for the top few spots in the American.

If we can find a couple wins between SMU, Miami, Marshall, Navy and UCF we will be in a good position heading into the end of our season. Lets just hope the Michigan game was the real Cats.

If you believe CBS Sports 130 rankings UC will go 6-6 by winning their last 4 games . (home team gets a bump of 10 spots …my rule )

UC :89

@Miami (87) L
@ Navy (42) L
Marshall (82) W
UCF (40) L
@USF (34) L
SMU (58) L
@Tulane (105) W
Temple (90) W
@ECU (123) W
UConn (95) W

https://www.cbssports.com/collegefootbal...gs/cbs/130

Moral of the story don’t give up on the Bearcats if they are sitting at 2-6 . Which I don’t believe for a second will happpen anyways

While I agree with your point, Bearcat fans will sleep better if there is at least a split between Miami and Navy. I believe this regime will keep the team motivated as the season rolls on if they're in the hunt for a bowl. The wild card later in the season: injuries. So there's a lot to be said for winning now.

By your data we lose to Marshall. IMO the question is are we the lousy team that played AP or the quality team that played Michigan. I have no idea.

I will be pretty happy if we go to Tulane at 3-5. That puts us in great position for a bowl game. If we have to finish 4-0, I don't like our chances. Sure, the schedule is weak, but I doubt this team is ready to roll off 4 wins in a row. We need to either sweep Miami and Marshall, or split those and steal the UCF or SMU game at home.

I will not be happy with this at all. Losing is unacceptable with our schedule. The only acceptable loss on our schedule this year was at michigan. To be reasonable two other losses are probable. Anything more than 4 losses this season is a disaster! LF if they keep score we expect to win. Don't accept mediocrity so easily and have a little faith. Go Cats!! Let's win the rest of them and win a conference title like we are supposed to.

Well not exactly. This is a rebuilding year but 3-5 is no where close to where UC needs to be after 8 games. My target is no worse than 4-4 and hopefully 5-3. Rebuilding the culture of winning includes keeping the bell and defending home field.

Seriously?

Are you basing this on name recognition? We are a very young team (49 redshirt and true freshmen). We are in the 1st year of a coaching transition. We have serious talent deficiencies on the OL. Our QB situation is shaky at best. Our WR's are decent, but none of them can be compared to Mardy Gilyard, Armon Binns or Chris Moore.

USF and UCF has more talent than we do on the field. SMU might have the best offense in the conference (that's going to be a tough game, fwiw). Navy is always tough and we go there.

If your expectation is 11-1 or best you are going to be seriously disappointed.

I bumped us 10 spots for home team advantage and gave us the win. I think this team is more the one we saw at Michigan anyways and that 89 ranking for us is a little low . We need to beat all these teams in the 80s 90s and worse .

It's almost like he forgets that a team with more talent last year went 4-8 and had to learn a completely new system with the coaches being left square pegs in round holes all around the offense, a terrible QB situation, three walk-ons on the OL two-deep, and over half the team in their first year on the field...weird.
