What I Expected
Initially I thought we had a good chance to go 3-1 OOC.

We are 0-2.

Several folks said dehydration, a tough high temp game, 4 days in jet lag, long flights would take a toll. I thought that was overstated. Now I see the wisdom. We looked pretty tired out and down right from the start.

Why all the passing? The only way our QB and receivers can get experience is to throw. Learn the hard way. I liked the game call for that reason. We need to get balanced, only way to do that is play balanced. Loved the shots, guys were very close to scores at least twice. Wassink has an arm and needs to be more consistent, receivers will start to catch stuff in time for MAC play.

So no dream season here. But no reason we can't still go for 8 wins. I do think we need to see Goddard get some snaps just because.

Really need to win next three games.

Onward for the Brown and Gold.

We should. In fact, the next 4 games are all winnable. Possibly the next 5.

EMU at Ypsi now looks like a challenge. We have 6 weeks to develop before that game and we better use it well. In particular the passing game needs to develop. We can't have WRer's dropping passes that hit the in the hands. And our OL needs to get much better.

7 weeks to CMU at Waldo. Big Rivalry game and if it took place today we would go down to defeat. Need to get a lot better before then.

8 weeks until Kent State at Waldo. We should beat them.

9 weeks until NIU at Dekalb and 10 weeks until UT at Toledo. Enough said.

RE: What I Expected
All of our remaining games are either very winnable or, in the case of most of our remaining games, we should be significant favorites. The first two were always going to be very difficult, and a tall order. I never expected us to beat MSU, but thought we had a decent shot. I was very disappointed in how we played, and the decisions that were made in the game. When many said the Spartans were not that good and we should win, I didnt buy that, and knew not only that MSU is a solid program and will be much better this year, but also that the trip to and from LA is draining, and then going on rad again, with less than a perfect practice week in terms of the schedule, all would make it very hard to be at our best; and clearly we werent.

We need to get it going now, and Idaho is a good opponent to come in. We should win the next two non-conference games, but based on what I saw last week I will take nothing for granted. Losing Tranquil sucks big time. I really liked him. Hope he is back strong next year.

Lester needs a nice little run. He got a very bad break with this schedule. Couldn't have been worse. He had the team looking good against USC, but boy what a difference a week made. Lets get it going now.

We should win next two.

But don't overlook Testicle Tech. They are improved this year. We should be favored at home but might be tougher game than expected-look like on paper.

I have followed the MAC long enough to know that no MAC game can be overlooked. But there are several schools this year which should be pretty good; Ball St being one, but honestly, we will need to be on top of our game against EMU, Toledo, NIU, probably CMU, and even Buffalo has not looked bad in its first two games. Buffalo played well against Minnesota and Army. Army will be pretty decent this year I think (and really hope), and last weeks game went right down to the wire. I am not sure how good or bad Akron or Kent will be this year, but I am sure even those are games we could lose if we are not playing well.

I really believe the MAC is, year in and year our, the most balanced and competitive league, from top to bottom, in the country. MAC football games are generally as entertaining as any; and far more exciting to watch than most. I wish more folks, and particularly MAC alumni, appreciated it as much as we all do.

'Should' win the next 2? You're playing Idaho (soon to be FCS) and Wagner!

You 'should' beat both of those teams by at least 4 TD's. You're still the MAC favorite until somebody else proves otherwise, with the talent on your roster. I'm still not buying the Toledo hype. Thinking they get beat this week by Tulsa at home.
