Curious, as I can't seem to find it, as to how many players from Idaho transferred out after last season? Appears the program was kicked out of the Sun Belt, but are still in it for this season. If the bulk of the team is still there from the bowl game, it should be a challenge. While they go down in 2018 from FBS, to me, this still looks like a challenge, especially with the QB.

We're still FBS this season so next season is when people will see (potentially) a lot of transfers. We lost 20 seniors from last year's team, though not all were starters, and a few guys graduated and decided to start life after football.

I kind of have a silly question because I think I might know the answer, but why do you think Idaho didn't join the Mount West?

still such a great movie...need a team called the NIT WITS Vandal comes guessing from vandalism or the other way around...such the irony when considering the ceiling tile fiasco
The Vandals were a Germanic tribe from around Poland that moved around Europe between 100 BC and 550 AD. They were constantly being pushed around by the Goths, the Huns and the Romans. They were enemies of the Roman Empire, eventually settling in areas that incorporated Roman provinces in North Africa. Roman attempts to push them out failed, and the Vandals sacked Rome in 455. This lead to Vandals being associated with barbarians, and the term "vandalism" became associated with acts of senseless destruction, particularly the defacing of art. In reality, the Vandals probably saved more antique Roman culture than they destroyed. (The Western Roman Empire was in its waning years at that point, and was constantly subjected to pillaging at the hands of barbarian tribes).

I see someone else besides me took Heroes and Villains of the Middle Ages as an elective at WMU.

I actually did, lol.
In fact, I got my degree in History.

I got word last night I will be with the Vandals this weekend. At least I should be able to see most of the game. Best I can say to the Vandals will be good luck and that's it.
Quote:Nice analysis. I will look forward to a TV series about the vandals on either Netfix, Amazon Prime, A&E, or History Chanel. Love that stuff.
I think the story will entail having a good QB, but going FCS in the end. And although they sacked Rome early AD, they couldn't sack Wassink in the early 2000's. :)

A large part of it is facilities. The dome only holds 15,200 and our basketball team plays in there as well. If we had a standalone arena, which is in the works now, we would have stood a better chance. The other reason is that Boise State's president has a very active anti-UI campaign. He doesn't want Idaho getting press in the Boise area because we are competing with them for students in a state with a terrible reputation for high schoolers going on to college. Boise also happens to be the population center of the state so if BSU is the only show in town, students will be more inclined to go there. Because of this BSU will try to block any attempt by Idaho to join the Mtn West.

Pretty interesting. Must be tough to compete with a giant-killer like BSU in the same state. How often do you meet up with them on the field?
