Obviously Cuse Centric but he dives into analysis of how the schedule affects other teams too

It's interesting that FOX has apparently sublicensed the Syracuse-Georgetown game to CBS. They've historically sublicensed a number of lower profile Big East games to CBSSN, but I've never seen a Big East game on big CBS since FOX won the contract.

Georgetown's perceived significance continues to slip in the college basketball world.

Agreed...they better hope Patrick Ewing is the 2nd coming.

Sadly Cuse/Georgetown rivalry is dying.

While I don't disagree about the general decline of the Hoyas, my thought is that FOX was looking to collect some cash from sublicensing, and CBS found the SU-GU game attractive.

There is no other CBS game scheduled at that time, but it doesn't necessarily mean there won't be as not all conferences have announced their schedules yet.

I believe the only major conference for which CBS owns rights directly is the Big Ten. They have historically sublicensed quite a few games from ESPN, including a number of ACC games and, in the past, Big East games. They do sublicense Big East games from FOX for CBSSN, but this is the first instance I've seen of them sublicensing from FOX for CBS itself.

1 odd takeaway from the Louisville schedule is Louisville @ Kentucky at 1 pm on a Friday, Dec 29 on CBS.

For TV purposes, it looks like it's the lead in to the Sun Bowl, which is scheduled to kick at 3 pm ET the same day on CBS.

RE: Mike Waters Looks at ACC Basketball Schedule
Talk about some meat grinders in the schedule. Even though UNC gets two of three games at home and the NCState game is only a bus ride away, three games in five days is tough. I wouldn't wish it on our worst opponent; wait ... yes, I would wish it on Georgetown. Or worse, they are Georgetown.

I hate Saturday-Monday schedules, but so be it. Gotta get the games in and TV gets a say if everyone wants a payday.

Gotta love Dukes' first five games being and "easing" into the schedule. Most conferences would look at that as a tough stretch, in the ACC it's as easy as it gets. The price of being the toughest hoops conference, top to bottom.

Please explain why every team in the ACC - Big 10 Challenge plays a basketball game and FSU plays a scrimmage. (FSU, if you lose, you will lose all respect in hoops that you have worked so hard for ... and earned. Losing to Rutgers is NOT an option.)
