5 of them were IMHO great plays. We had coverage and they made a play. Sometimes your opponent makes a great play and you tip your hat to them. I was impressed with their qb. Wonder where he will be drafted?

Learn from mistakes and move on.

Clark credited Ball State receivers for making tough catches with UAB players "draped over them."

UAB outgained Ball State 336-160 on the ground and 504-377 in total yardage. One busted play on the ground went for a Ball State 52-yard touchdown. Otherwise, UAB holds the Cardinals to 108 rushing yards.

"We were so concerned with their running game," Clark said. "Maybe I could have put us in more third and longs in practice."

Clark said that the Blazers had four third down busts that were mental errors.

Was there something specific that triggered him or was it a cumulative thing?

I'm guessing it was cumulative. Although I listened to the game & wasn't able to watch it online.

Nobody lost more sleep over it than Clark. He was probably planning some corrections on the plane ride home.

I think I heard they were making it a point to crack down on the sideline warnings this year. Didn't they also call one on Ball State, like immediately after the one on us?

Bill went off after one too many questionable calls. The lineman not on the line really set him off as it's how the line normally lines up for an obvious passing play and it was easy to read his lips. He kept saying "thats how we line up" and then later another penalty that gave them a first down sent him over the edge.

Well after the game Coach Clark didn't spend any time chatting with there coach at all. You could tell he was heated. They didnt even embrace...just a quick hand shake. I think their coach tried to run the score up but maybe its just me.

I caught that. It was a quick, terse handshake. Clark had a look that said, "The next time we play, it'll be in Birmingham, and expect an ass whoopin'. "

I believe in the Steve Spurrier concept: there is no such thing in running up the score, it is the offenses job to score every time they have the ball and it’s the defenses job to stop them….He would run the same offense throughout the game regardless of the score and from looking at his record he did a pretty good job..
