What do you make as the opening line vs. Sparty?
The opener will be released sometime this evening. What would you make it if you were sitting in that room?
I think it will open MSU -3.5, and rather quickly be bet closer to pick 'em.
Interestingly, the final score of the USC game was very close to the opening number (19.5) although it's obvious to everyone that the game itself was much closer than that.
Given our performance yesterday, I expect a Bronco victory next weekend. We looked much better than our final score indicated and MSU looked much worse than their final score indicated. Bowling Green is hot garbage.

I think MSU will be favored by more, because not only are they at home, but we have to travel back from California, and recover not only from jet lag, but dehydration. It really is another tough task. Tough starting schedule.

MSU -9.5. Vegas accounts for garbage time touchdowns like last night

I think the game is a pickem but if I was setting a line to try to even money out, then probably MSU -4 or so

Bowling Green only closed +19 against them.
No way we're only 9.5 points better than BG.
I would literally dip into my savings to take anything WMU +7 or higher.

When the Spartans open as the favorite take the points. Don't need the points, Western will be victorious by 6, 33-27

MSU -3.5, but I expect to see WMU win by 3. Late field goal gets it done.

I believe that it will open at about MSU -6 and be moved around gametime to about -3.5.

I would guess MSU -9.5. WMU's passing game is up in the air -- and MSU has a strong strong D, and it's in East Lansing. I can't see Vegas putting us as only 3pt underdogs.

"W.M.U.'s

Todd I sincerely hope so cause if the Bronco passing game is anywhere else they are in a heap of trouble

Good one, Goldsworth!
Todd, I'm so glad that you are resurrecting the chicken little routine this year. Worked like a charm last season.

It was Wassink's 1st game, on a huge stage. He didn't pass too much, and when he did, mostly when USC (and fans) knew he kinda had to, at least. Two I remembered were deep long-balls -- one to the TE which I thought was a PI because USC's DB didn't look behind himself At All... but other than that, he wasn't "sweet". I know one of the catches Made was a Great 7 or 8 yard catch by the receiver which was unnecessary due to it being a little off.
THANKFULLY we have Lester to help make this easier. I wish we had our D1AA team next week THEN MSU. It would allow him to get more comfortable.
I expect us to go 0-2, but he should be challenged the most in the secondary after 2 games moreso than ANY QB in the whole country. We should be prepared to take down Idaho with a passing game that's threatening to a team on our level -- and then fixing/tuning against the D1AA, where going into conference season his passing game will be maybe not prolific or anything (could be tho, who knows) -- but due to our run game, certainly a threat throughout the season.

Looks like MSU -6.5 (-125)
I'll take a healthy WMU wager at that number.
A couple of other openers:
Kansas -4 over CMU (KU might be my "dip-into-savings" wager this week)
Rutgers -2.5 over EMU
Purdue -3.5 over Ohio
Some short P5 favorites here. Time for the MAC to represent and get some OOC wins.

Be great to see EMU take down a B1G10 team. Even a weak one. They have the ability to pull it off this year.

More:
Army -17 vs Buffalo
Ball State -11.5 vs UAB
Toledo -10.5 @ Nevada (I'll be at that game)

RE: What do you make as the opening line vs. Sparty?
Odds shift A LOT right now -- I'd settle for tomorrow night. But here's the few that VegasInsider has... not much to average by though...
CMU @ Kansas: Kansas -2.5 OPEN, now "average" is 3. [Personally, I'd bet on Kansas; 3OTs to beat a BAD FCS team giving you 6 INTs?!]
WMU @ MSU: MSU -7.5 OPEN, now "average" is still -7.5. [Personally, I'd bet on MSU; But WMU could win; Little info on how good MSU is; Wassink needs to get passing game down]
EMU @ Rutgers: Rutgers -3.5 OPEN, now "average" is -4.5. [Personally, I'd bet on Rutgers; Did well against Washington; EMU hard to Work to beat Charlotte until Char's mistakes set in]
Western Kentucky @ Illinois: WKU -7.5 OPEN, now "average" is -6.5. [Personally, I'd bet on Illinois; WKU struggled to beat FCS EKU by 14 where they were 39pt favorites]
