Exclamation Congrats, Aggies!
I'm not a big moral victory guy, but Aggies did a heckuva job playing ASU within 6 last night. Even if ASU isn't supposed to be that good this season (they are not), it doesn't take away from the fact that Jaleel Scott is a g-d animal or that the Aggies never quit. Hope y'all are finally rewarded with some winning football for your long-suffering NMSU football fandom.

The team played ok. I just hope no injuries and that UNM can go down next week. They do have a few extra days to prepare.

We had 12 sacks all last season, this season in the first game we got 7.

Ditto this statement. Would've loved to have seen ASU go down though. The sooner they fall into mediocrity the sooner I do not have to read about them much in the Arizona Republic.

Then maybe they will also realize that it has a greater value to play us even if they lose.

The Havocs were at the game cheering against NMSU and ASU. Talk about needing to get a life.

RE: Congrats, Aggies!
Considering the fact that ASU was favored by 23 points, a good performance by the Aggies. NMSU outgained ASU 549 yards to 400 yards and had the seven sacks. Not bad at all. ASU is a PAC-12 school and they are recruiting at a different level than NMSU, so to play as well as they did is impressive.

Even without the win, getting paid $800,000 and being on National TV is a win for the football program and the athletic budget. Hopefully, NMSU can find six wins and become bowl eligible. Beating UNM and UTEP would be a good start towards that goal. So good luck this season Aggies, except in that Texas State game.

They need to realize that most people around the country think of Grand Canyon as a damn credit union. They don't even know it's a University.

That is right. I hear the Pi Kappa Phi will be pretty strong this year!

I am just glad that no one seemed to be hurt in the game.

Congrats to the win over the Loobs! That 4th quarter was horrible, but if they play as they did in the first three, they have a good shot to bowl. Too bad that their easier SB opponents are all at the end of the schedule for the Aggies.

Being up 25 in the 4th quarter can always be bad. Luckily for us, we pulled it out at the end.

What were you saying about that intramural football team in LC? Oh, you mean the one that just beat the defending MWC Mountain division champs in Albuquerque? Ha HA

Rather than start a new "Congrats, Aggies" thread, I'll just say "ditto" on this one from last week. Always feels good to beat your rival. Wobble on!

NMSU not the only team to blow a 20+ lead in the 4th quarter tonight. Boise State just did the same thing.

WSU BSU game was fun. NMSU did enough to win unlike BSU.

Nice win, Aggies! You guys get Troy and UTEP the next two weeks. Win these next two games and I think NMSU has a good shot at six wins and a bowl berth.

RE: Congrats, Aggies!
I think theres only 2 games left that I dont see NMSU winning at all (Arkansas and Appalachian State). Troy, Arkansas State, and Idaho (I still have confidence in this team) are the only other realistic potential losses I see right now. Maybe on the road vs Georgia State too, idk if GATA is as bad as the UNH loss was. Even if NMSU lost all 5 of these, thats 6-6. I think the drought is gonna end this year, at least based on the first 2 weeks of play
