Ohio State is losing a veteran offensive lineman. Offensive tackle Kevin Feder announced he will transfer from the Buckeyes’ program on Thursday morning.

Feder will be a graduate transfer and immediately eligible wherever he lands.

“Ohio State has been my home for the past three years and sadly this spring semester will be my last. I will be graduating with a Sports Industry degree with plans on transferring to a different University,’ Feder wrote on Twitter. “As of today, I am reopening my recruitment and looking for a new place to expand on my football career as well as my academics. I would like to thank Coach Meyer, Coach Stud, and the rest of the coaching staff for the opportunity to play at this prestigious University. …Most importantly, thank you to Buckeye Nation for truly being the Best Damn Fans in the Land with all your love and support!”

Feder, who is listed at 6-foot-9, 303 pounds, was a 3-star recruit in Ohio State’s 2015 class. He dealt with a foot injury for his first two seasons in Columbus and never was able to climb the Buckeyes’ depth chart.

Feder will have two years of eligibility left after transferring.

Any Chance?

I know some may will say they don't want him because he is an ex OSU player, and likely a double agent sent by Urban to keep UC down, but at 6'9 303lbs with 2 years of eligibility...sign him up.

Yep. We've had OSU transfers in the past and UC fans have been pretty welcoming. Knowing nothing about this particular player or his educational and athletic goals, I would think if Fickell wants to talk with him he'll get an audience. And if he's struggled to get playing time at OSU I don't think he's transferring to Alabama or Clemson. But I suspect he could see a lot of action here in the short run.

I'm not saying we would not welcome him. We have had a lot of OSU transfers, and guys like Underwood were great, and Trout/Schmidt helped out on a bad O-Line last season. Whenever OSU is mentioned in conjunction with UC there are always snide remarks. Just getting in front of the 8 ball here.

Trout did well. Schmidt and Gibson were washouts.

To be fair, there was that one schmuck who got upset because of the clothes Fickell wears, early on it was lots of logo-less gray stuff. So that "OSU agent" thing got run into the ground. Can't remember who it was.

LOL anyone who thinks this is insane and probably wears a tinfoil hat. They Are also the same people that swear that Zimpfer was hired by Ohio State to submarine Cincinnati basketball and on and on and on and on it goes...

Don't forget about Sam Longo, he was a core contributor on a very good O-Line for three years (and should've just come here from the start).

Heard this stated elsewhere, and i agree...

the thought was be leery of a big man with feet issues.

It often proves to be the case with big men in basketball. stands to reason it's often the case in football as well.

Surely the kid is gifted, and can contribute....but will his body allow him to do so?

TBD.
