A couple of people on the Western site don't think much of this award. I dare say had they won it, they would be comparing it to the most prestigious award one could achieve.

Its not the first time we won it, actually during Lyke's tenure we won for the first time-ever. You're right Ken, it only matters to WMU if WMU had won it. But they have been too busy bashing EMU (along with Toledo) all these years to let it go. The best way to silence the haters is keep winning it.

Oh where's the local or HBO mention of this in their broadcasts or specials?

And we achieve this despite a shoestring budget and being know as a commuter campus.

I don't know what to make of this award. Other than WMU (once) and Toledo (once) it has been only won by three schools...

Dare I say some of my Bronco brethren on BS are low class, unfortunately.

Blast the headline to every other team and you'll inevitably get some pushback.

While a great accomplishment, the average fan and recruit would have zero idea what the award is.

Hm, my attitude is the only way to stop the naysayers is produce facts.

Its up to the school to educate them on the selling points. I believe the award is even more impressive when you consider that EMU offers the most sports program of any MAC school.
