Quality in depth Bronco Football analysis...
And it comes from a USC podcast. Someone had posted it on a thread yesterday but it got buried and I couldn't find it. Starting at 10:20 with Robin Hook. He provides a nice outlook on the team following a review of last season.
But the show hosts go on afterwards for over half an hour detailing every position group of the Broncos. They talk about schemes and matchups with USC. They failed to mention that both teams are breaking in new kickers. Still, probably the best breakdown of our team I've heard thus far. But none of the lazy and somewhat condescending reporting that have come from local sports outlets.
I was most surprised that they don't believe The Coliseum will be sold out. I know it's gonna be in the 90s but it's the season opener. They figured on about 68,000. That's 25,000 short of a sellout? They are a possible national champion contender and can't fill seats? Just read their Ave attendance last year was just over 68,000 WTF?!

In years past, USC has VERY rarely sold out. Even in the '04-05 Bush/Leinart years...

Part of the reason the new changes to the stadium will reduce the crowd size. This is LA folks...too many teams, too much traffic, too many distractions. WMU is not Notre Dame on the ticket. By the way, USC is really ticking off the long time season ticket holders with the proposed changes and the ticket prices and licensing fees. Gonna take a second mortgage to afford tickets and long time seat holders are being bounced around the stadium based on how much they contribute. Why I like Waldo on a Saturday, especially the 15 minute drive home. Also, MANY of the seats are just terrible if you are going to put 94,000 in there. The Olympic flame end of the stadium has seats that are facing the field, but a half a football field east of the end zone.

USC attendance was at a 12 year low in 2016. The Trojans averaged about 68,000 last season. If WMU draws 68,000 that will only be about 4,000 less than ND.

That was a great podcast. Its always nice to see an opponent, especially a P5 level opponent, take the actual time to do an accurate breakdown. Not much of what they were saying I could disagree with... I expect our Broncos to compete in this game but I also understand that the talent gap between USC and WMU is monumental.

They had an over-under in the podcast of how many times Sam Darnold was going to escape a broken down play for a huge gainer... using his feet to keep the play alive. I think it was somewhere around 3 is what they predicted.

I am curious as to how our defense looks under new D-Coord Daoust... Broncos bring back quite a few players from last year on D... but whats been lost is that they are learning a new system... I am curious as to how fast they can play in that system right off the bat...

Part of it also is the weather.

If you were a USC fan, would you want to sit out in 95-100 degree heat and watch them play a G5 program? Probably not.

A small part of it because they only averaged 68,000 last season. And it isn't that hot into October and november. Sure they get a bump for PAC12 moreso because the UCLA, Cal and Stanford fans probably fill in empty seats. So in the lesser matchups they are seeing less than the average crowds. Whatever the reasons it's not good on USCs fanbase for a half empty stadium.
