I think this is also about the fifth straight season where SI proclaims that stAte not only has the most talent in the Sun Belt, but is also more talented than the previous year's team. I honestly don't see why the games should even be played.

Didn't he say App was like the 8th most talented team in the conference a couple years ago, only to watch them go 7-1 in league?

Maybe. I'm not about to go hunting for it.

It's pointless to argue with him. His shadow organization's talent evaluations are always infallible... until they aren't... but then it doesn't matter because he can scapegoat a coach as the reason for every instance in which stAte doesn't live up to his stated level of talent.
Well as I've said in that past I probably know less about football than anyone posting here so I was pretty much limited to going with the predictions of their overall record by the people I crunched data for said.

Last year was the first year they did not meet the record they predicted, which was 9 wins +/-1, in regular season. Took really bad losses to Utah State and UCA to miss the mark.

I don't think Anderson is a bad HC, and pretty much agree with the rankings of the SBC head coaches you guys came up with.

Unfortunately for Anderson the people that pay him feel he has too many bad loses, and to few good wins, to stay the course. After the UCA game that was made very clear to Anderson, as was their goal of being the best G5 team.

They apparently said sooner rather than later, so Anderson will call plays and coach QB's in 2017 to expedite reaching that goal.

Anderson also said they are physically talented enough to win all 12 of their games this year, so all is good

I'll sick with eight wins.

RE: Sun Belt Football Predictions 2017
AStateNation did a nice analysis on their Premium Message Board about A-State's OOC record since 2011 for those with access.

The Jonesboro Sun today, in their write-up about what to expect this season went so far as to say that their OOC record is probably the only thing holding Anderson back. While predicting a 9-3 season, and not shutting the door on 10 wins, the Sun article also said: "Big schools making big hires tent to look for people with some previous tie to their program or some big wins on their resume. For Anderson, however, those big wins have yet to materialize." and "Outside the Sun Belt Anderson's teams are 3-9, during the regular season, and 1-2 in bowls."

In this CFN article titled , Arkansas State Red Wolves 2017 Mega Monster Preview.

"The 2016 Red Wolves were supposed to challenge the Group of Five Elite. Instead, Anderson’s athletic but sometimes undisciplined crew opened the season 0-4, including a bitter loss to in-state FCS program Central Arkansas."

"Half a Sun Belt trophy and the Cure Bowl victory were satisfying, but there is an uneasy feeling among Red Wolves’ fans that too much was left on the table."

Based on my conversations with Red Wolf fans, the part I highlighted in bold is an understatement, and that is the problem Anderson is trying to address, and has nothing to do with what I think.

SI, every time I read one of your posts on here, I "see" a (really, REALLY - like "glow in the dark") white guy wearing a white dress shirt and black pleated slacks with a black bowtie, wearing thick black horn-rimmed glasses with scotch tape on one of the corners - of course, slightly off-balance on the bridge of your nose.

Is that you, SI? Talent, talent, talent... J/K brother! 04-cheers

You got the tape on the glasses part right, but its only because I can't remember to pick up a pair when I'm at Walmart, and $5.00 is a lot of money anyway.

I'm more the outdoorsy type, who wears jeans to church.

I would say most people would probably guess I was blue-collar not white-collar, and seem surprised when they find out different.

Probably most would guess I graduated HS, but not college.

I seem to get along with "red-necks" better than non-red-necks, which probably is a result of working in oil fields, here and overseas, for a few years in my younger days.

Plus I just stay in shape, so most think I have always done physical things.
