Football in paradise
One of the perks of playing football in Miami is being so close to the ocean. Well, Butch Davis and the coaching staff took advantage of that by bringing the team out for a surprise trip to the Fontainebleau resort in Miami Beach for a nice break after practice. I love the energy and excitement Butch is bring to the program and how the team is bonding. Plus I'm sure potential recruits must love the idea too!

Here's a local news video on it:

I'm curious, what do other C-USA programs do that are similar to this?

RE: Football in paradise
Not to crash the party here, but new HC Brennan has been integrating his San Jose St football practices with other activities. They have to been getting lectures from various people around the area like former football players, coaches other people from all walks of life. He has been getting the football team involved with other SJSU sports like women's soccer by having a shootoff with them, volleyball and softball teams. He has been getting SJSU more visible than ever before around campus. Hopefully, they will translate into more support for football and not only by going to the games.

Herd usually take a trip or several to the cemetery to visit the plane crash victims for memory and motivation. Also lately they've been going to do training at the Greenbrier PGA resort which is pretty plush for fans on that side of the state. WVU and I think it's the Houston Texans also do camp there so they get some overlap.

I think y'all can't hold a torch to what this one school does:
Every season, Denzel Washington wakes all the players up early in the morning and has them go through a jog around Gettysburg

This is a direct rip off of what FAU has been doing since there football program started. And since when is Miami paradises? Most people from Broward and Palm Beach won't drive past Hollywood for anything more then a professional sporting event. If litter, graffiti, and ghettos is paradise then we live in an alternate reality. Lmao, Miami and Paradise don't belong in the same sentence. Try driving up to East Boca or Clematis, it's pretty much Bal Harbour without having to drive past 20 projects.

16 million visitors think Miami is a paradise, only 6 million think palm beach county is worth visiting. So you keep your "clean" city and 6 M visiting wallets, we are happy with our projects, pro football, pro basketball, pro baseball, endless events and 16 M visiting wallets.

Also the video is not about training at the beach. Both FIU and FAU train at the beach over the years. This is about the team hosted by a 5 star hotel on the beach for a day off.
Quote:Situated on oceanfront Collins Avenue in the heart of Millionaire's Row, Fontainebleau Miami Beach is one of the most historically and architecturally significant hotels on Miami Beach, Florida.

Care to post a video where your team is hosted by a Boca hotel?

If WPB is such a paradise why is Miami constantly flooded with weekend vacationers from your county?

People won't drive south of Hollywood? Laughable. I'll take my projects and immigrants any day over the meth and crackheads littered all over the beach neighborhoods of northern South Florida.

As stated above, if WPB were really a more desirable location yall would get more attention.

FAU fans are getting inflated egos over the recent hype around their team. Don't get it twisted, this too shall pass when your one year rental finds a better gig.

With all the transfers in and out of that program it's clear Kiffin doesn't give a rat's ass about changing the culture, he just wants as many wins as possible in year 1 so he could get out as soon as he can.

Your program is irrelevant south of the PB/Broward county line. Know your role.

PS- alternate video explaining how the president and COO is an alumn of FIU. I doubt the president of The Breakers is affiliated with FAU in any way, lol.

16 million people visit Miami, 13 million visit Fort Lauderdale, and 6 million visit Palm Beach. If I was talking about tourists you would win, but I'm talking about locals. Why would we go to your beaches, when ours aren't littered with drunk tourists? You guys wait in hours of traffic to go to a beach where you have 3 feet of personal space, no thanks.

The only weekend vacationers you get from Palm Beach are 20 year olds who are going clubbing in South Beahc or Wynwood. Anything else is false news my friend. When people say Miami up here it's usually followed by a joke about the crime, traffic, or angry people.

Man, wow, I never knew the Fontainebleau was so rough... Covered in graffiti and located right in the middle of the projects....

I'm pretty sure I said you would have to drive past 20 projects to get there. Look, I understand your reading comprehension skills are low, you probably got an education at FIU.

RE: Football in paradise
The Football in Paradise phrase is literally in our fight song.

Saying FIU is the school of South Beach is like saying Rutgers in the school of NYC. The area around FIU isn't nice at all and just basically and old residential are west of I95.
Boca atleast offers some true bars where college students can enjoy like Obrians, The Well, Whistle stop, Night Owl(RIP) FAU and the city are also working on creating an even closer Street/Hub for FAU students http://www.sun-sentinel.com/real-estate/...story.html
UM which is in the Gables which is cool area of Miami has places where students can go have fun.
Also selling the south beach life style for FIU is ridicules because unless you are loaded I don't know how many students can have fun at the fountain beach pool which based on the last time is was there I paid 12 bucks for a beer.

Man how many C-USA schools would love to find a coach for 2 years that brings tons of national attention, talent, and fan excitement and to add a big buy out when he leaves. That Bobby P rental at WKU has really hurt them all these years.
You got a guy who has worked TV for the last 7 years and is going to collect checks from his old pal and cash out.
