Visited gomeangreen.com and they are real excited about this game.....would have rather scheduled against someone else such as a P5, AAC member, MWC, or MAC instead of USA.

I could care less about them. Nice to have a game in Texas that is easy for me to go see. But UNT ain't all that.

They were high and mighty before that. SBC fans can speak to their interactions with UNT. However, I remember when we were exploring the move to FBS I posted on this site and GoMeanGreen to get a feel. They wanted another Texas school in the SBC but did not think we were worthy.

I don't want to tar the whole University (UNT for their attitude), but yeah . . they do have a very vocal fan base with a way over inflated view of UNT's place in the Cosmos of Collegiate Football . . . .

They're kinda like that old joke about the difference between a Doctor and God?

God doesn't walk around thinking he's a Doctor . . . .

I'd still like to get a H/H with 'em though.

RE: North Texas, South Alabama to Play Home & Home
As someone who lives reasonably close to San Marcos, I would absolutely love a home and home with Texas State. I dont really understand why we scheduled USA, as i'm not sure what the series does for either school. Texas State, Arkansas State, or Louisiana was the better play here for us.

And for the record, while I love being in CUSA, I also loved the Belt. We were in the SBC while I was a student and I have great memories attached to the teams we were in a conference with (mostly for basketball, we blew at football during those years). I still proudly wear my UNT t-shirts with the SBC logo on them. I have no problem with an OOC game vs a Belt school. I just would rather it be a more regional game.

RE: North Texas, South Alabama to Play Home & Home
I had to do some "googlin" but I found North Texas (UNT) is a school in texas that was once in the sun belt. They are now in conference usa. Apparently Conference USA is a young conference most recently formed when all "good" former teams left for "Power Six". I figured I'd help out the other App State, Georgia Southern, Coastal Carolina, and whoever else joined the funbelt after the UNT whomevers left fans. I hope South Alabama whoops up on 'em.

North Texas has a nice new stadium. Of course parking there stinks. Also you can't buy liquor there in Denton.

Guess we could pretend they’re UCF, Ball State, Kent State, or Memphis.

We are ok against those guys OOC.
