USA Today AAC preview
The only mention of UC in this preview is just a blurb on Hayden Moore. Yet they pick UC to go 7-5, 4-4 in conference.

Trying to predict UC's performance this coming season is a tall order given last year's meltdown and the coaching change so I understand that. I remain optimistic.

The preview overall is consistent, if nothing else, with "USA Today" and its shallow and superficial approach to most stories. But Aresco's Power Six branding will receive the ultimate reality check when negotiations begin on the next TV deal.

I can't really argue with any of their picks. Broughton is obviously a contender on the dline, but Oliver is a stud. Not realy familiar with the Smu kid. However, i do like being on the down low as far as what we been able to accomplish in the past. Definitely motivation for players and coaches.

RE: USA Today AAC preview
So this American Athletic Conference preview has multiple paragraphs about the Mountain West Conference...

but doesn't say a word about Cincinnati, other than being listed in their predicted standings (4th in the East) and starting QB ranking (10th). We also join Tulane in being the only schools without a single player on the preseason all-conference team. None of the conference's 8 biggest games of the year involve the Bearcats.

Back-to-back BCS bowls, #3 ranking, 4 BCS conference championships in 5 years... and a few years later, we aren't even getting mentioned in our own G5 conference preview.

We should carry the banner for this conference, not just be an afterthought. This is disgusting.

I didn't think we needed any more "bash HWSNBN" threads, but... holy crap. 05-deadhorse

What is a USA Today? Who cares? Let's measure W-L at the end of the FB season, not by an author's guess.

The only thing people will care about at the end of the year is the conference championship, the bowl game exposure, or the number next to our name on the Top 25. All three should be goals for our team this year. All else will be forgotten.

The quality of the article aside... I will happily take a 7-5 year and hopefully a bowl win for some great momentum going into the offseason.

I would have to go back and check, but other than the author's (low) opinion of the AAC he simply regurgitated what the coaches voted upon during media days. Not much thought or effort went into the article.

I agree, scribbling this article out must have been easy work.

I submit we have no idea how this year will turn out. The basic questions are if Tuberville stunk as a coach or stunk as a recruiter - or perhaps both.

Tuberville is gone with our millions - how will we do this year?

Will a good coach produce a winner from good players? Or will a good recruiter take a few years to find the players necessary to win?

I am hoping a good coach will produce a bowl eligible team this year and that CTT more stunk as a game coach than as recruiter.

Doesn't the Enquirer get some of their stories from USA Today. It's all becoming clearer.
