Pretty much two separate conferences from a decade or two ago.

Well if we go to 18 out of the Big 12 it will be pretty much the same if you put them into 2 divisions:

Arkansas, Louisiana State, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech or Kansas

Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Miss State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt

Since we're spitballing divisions here, I'll do one with a B12 twist.

SEC
West: Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TT, Missouri, Kansas

Central: Alabama, A&M, Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Miss State

East: Georgia, Florida, SC, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, NC State

ACC
South: Auburn, FSU, Clemson, Miami, GT, Wake Forest

Central: Tennessee, North Carolina, Duke, Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia

North: Norte Dame, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Cincinnati, BC

So the Vols would need to shrink Neyland from 100K to 70K?

18 is un-necessary. You could cover the same ground with 16 without duplicating markets (eliminate West Virginia and UConn).

Just divide the up this way:

Boston College
Syracuse
Pitt
Notre Dame
Cincinnati
Virginia Tech
Louisville
Miami

UVa
Duke
Carolina
Wake Forest
Clemson
Georgia Tech
Florida State
NC State

Boston College
Cincinnati (could add value to the ACCN and is decent enough in FB)
Clemson
Connecticut (the ACC doesn't need another "basketball-first/screw FB" program)
Duke
Florida State
Georgia Tech
Louisville
Miami
North Carolina
North Carolina State
Notre Dame (being all-in boost payouts, ACCN worth, and ACC FB status)
Pittsburgh
Syracuse
Virginia
Virginia Tech
Wake Forest
West Virginia (doesn't add enough value to the ACC or ACCN)
