An objective is to have 7 home games. Hard to do with that formula. Maybe 1 out of 3 years is all.

I have to disagree. The 1-AA is always a home game. The others are often a Home and Home series.
It makes sense to play other regional FBS. It's a close trip and we all have alumni in each other's cities. I personally have never understood our scheduling schools in the Midwest or West. I would rather play Memphis, UAB, Charlotte and East Carolina. We have five states bordering us and we should be playing the schools in those five states plus Georgia.

Tied for 9th last year and have won 11 games in 5 years... in the Sunbelt... and you want them in the AAC.

By those standards, Memphis should have never been in the American or even CUSA before these last couple of seasons. And no one can ever say again, " if Memphis could only get in a power conference then their programs would take off".

In my opinion, if we are looking as a conference to become a true challenger brand, then schools like Georgia State and Texas State, in high growth states and high populated areas, should be added to our conference. Continuing to recycle the old failed schools into the same conference but with a different name is leading us slowly to irrelevancy. It's time to try something new. There is a second wave of state schools out there to be had. And there's a reason that schools like the SEC and Big Ten are only expanding with those types of schools as well.

Our conference should look like the following:

Houston
UCONN
Memphis
Cincinnati
Temple
UCF
USF
SMU
UMASS
Georgia State
Texas State
Arkansas State
Missouri State (maybe)
Louisiana Tech
Ohio University
South Carolina State

Demographics will win out, which I think is a major plus to the AAC. We are for the most part in high growth cities in the Southern United States.

There isn't a better collection of cites in any other conference.

I agree. They are a peer university. No reason to prop up another suburban school.

You guys are insane. No disrespect to GSU, but they have zero fanbase, zero tradition, zero brand. But sure, they're in Atlanta so let's add them to the AAC. SMFH.

Talk to me after this and next year...

Again we are not spending $400M JUST on this project to be in the SBC. And I can promise you AAC leadership that counts is aware...

Meh. Tradition is overrated. All I need is a large motivated alumni base whose wealthy enough and politically connected enough to get things done. IPF. Primary tenant in their own stadium. Good recruiting base in a growing state.

This country is changing as we speak. It's going to look a hell of a lot different in 2030.

We are the AAC leadership that counts. Our president and the SMU president are the ones negotiating the new TV deal.

Would you recommend purchasing tickets in advance or on game day? Current online selection is terrible.

Buy from the Tiger Ticket Office. If all Tiger fans sit in the same sections, we may actually have more in attendance than GSU. GSU has historically poor event attendance.

Lol. That would be impossible. You're not bringing 15k. Youre not Georgia Southern.

For sure we aren't GS in the SB - but you're right they have much better fan support that GSU. And it may be a stretch for GSU to get 15K to the Memphis game, 4K-5K is more likely.

FYI, UCF starts a home-home deal with Ga Tech in Orlando next month. UCF returns to ATL in 2020.

Next year, Ga Tech starts a home-home-home with usf (Tampa 2018, ATL in 2019)
