MyBB Summer Practice/Scrimmage Reports
I know several of you who are primarily football fans are tired of the basketball threads, but I've been wanting to make a thread about this for a while now.

Have any of you heard reports on how your teams are looking so far this summer? Are any returning players expected to be much improved or are there any newcomers that are major difference makers? I know that the WSU players scrimmage during the summer so we sometimes hear tidbits of information and I was curious to see if some of you do too. Obviously some players are fairly well known coming into the program but I always enjoy hearing how they are doing against D1 competition.

Haha I definitely meant to put a basketball next to the thread title. Mods can you change that for me?

Did you use the football icon on purpose?

Edit: Haha. Beat me to it.

At a risk of violating the pay walls over at 247, I'll just say that people that have watched the team over the summer believe Cane Broome and Jarron Cumberland (replacements for Caupain and Johnson) are the two best and most talented players on Cincinnati.

Hopefully the video will come through. TU fans have gotten very little feedback from summer workouts. There was a video piece on the strength and conditioning coach and the video below of our two freshmen Elijah Joiner (with the ball) and Darian Jackson (dunking).

I assume this was expected? Still, that's a good thing. I think Cinci has a chance to be a Top 10 team this season.

You could see it at the end of the year with Cumberland. He's going to be a star, no doubt in my mind. Broome was more of a question mark as he was sitting out as a transfer. Still, it is great news if those two are your best players AND you return your top 3 scorers from last year (Evans, Washington and Clark).

RE: Summer Practice/Scrimmage Reports
The Tiger beat writer tweeted that three of our JUCO recruits and maybe Martin played a pickup game with members of Team Penny (an AAU team coached by Penny Hardaway). The result is murky and virtually meaningless anyway, but I starve for news about the team and take any crumb I can find.

Mark Giannotto Tweet:
"Here's what happened: Jeremiah brought Brewton, Thornton & Davenport to Penny's gym. Played pick up. Even if they lost, who cares? It's July"
