Being Tim Lester
Felt it necessary even without the fancy ESPNU and BIG10 network visibility that Tim gets himself a thread! I have followed Lester since I was a student at WMU in the late 90's...

Lets choose this thread to note our reflection on Tim Lester from QB at WMU up until now... and maybe even any future discussion surrounding how we feel about his coaching chops throughout the season!

Cant have a Being PJ ( who is GONE )... without having a Being Tim ( who is HERE )!

The team played paintball today. This is a good look for Lester:

I always thought it was a shame that Coach Lester never got a crack at the NFL.

I kept hearing something back then about some kind of weird hitch in his delivery that made the NFL scouts uncomfortable.

Tim's first year as a freshman ('96) under Coach Molde showed his character. We lost our first 7 games - getting shut out by Ohio, and only scoring in single digits in four other games. But Coach didn't give up on him and he didn't give up. With two games left we went down to BGSU and won in overtime. Lester and Moreland led the team to a win and the Bronco fans ran down the sideline rail to see that winning touchdown. We were happy campers. The next week we scored 76 points (I think a school record at that time). Sad to say that was Coach Molde's last game with the Broncos, but he gets the credit for bringing Lester to WMU.

Awesome. Yes, we beat Kent State 76-27. What gets me is -- how did Kent State score almost 4 TDs?! :)

As I recall, his first year Tim spent most of his time running for his life. We had very poor line play and he was constantly rushed. Hard way for a freshman QB to start his college career.

Make sure the incoming freshman see what they are playing for. A MAC trophy and this little bit of bling.
