MyBB Who are you watching?
Believe it or not, I'm not big on predictions. No way, right?

That said, I would love to hear if anyone is interested or plans to follow the play of individual WAC player(s) NOT on your team's roster? If so, why that/those individual (s)?

I'll go first, and I might have at least one player for just about every team...

CSUB - Brent Wrapp. Solid handles. Excellent decision making with the ball in his hands. His shot seemed to improve quite a bit from SO to JR year. If he continues on that trajectory, Wrapp could sneak up on some people & be a 2nd Team All WAC player when the season is over. That would make up for how terrible he was in Home Alone 3.

Chicago St - Fred Sims Jr. Maybe it's mostly because I don't know anyone else on their roster, but I'm also interested to see if/how declaring for the draft and going through that process helped Sims improve his overall game. Baker did the same thing last off-season & it launched him into an All WAC 1st team and POY in his Sr. season.

NMSU - Sidy N'Dir. After a quiet freshman campaign, Sidy really seemed to be breaking out before his untimely injury. Along with every Aggie fan, I can't wait to see what kind of season N'Dir can have when he is fully healthy.

UVU - Kenneth Ogbe. We saw him light it up at times last year. I would love to see him takie amother step forward, kind of like Wrapp, and surprise some folks across the conference. The tools are there. I'm watching to see if he can a) be more consistent, and b) lead this Wolverine squad.

Seattle U - Zack Moore. His work against Dewayne Russell last season impressed the hell out of me. He can really muscle smaller guards around, much like Josh Braun. While i anricipate most eyes will be on the big fella, Menzies, I will be watching to see what Moore does.

UTRGV - Nick Dixon. He left the team 2 seasons ago before any of us really knew who he was. All he did last year was finish Top 10 in the WAC across almost every major statistical category. He gets crapped on because UTRGV wasn't that good, defensively, but the young man was impressive. Can he do it again, especially now with Green gone?

UMKC - Sorry, Roo fans. This is where you'll have to help me out. I went through the roster on Verbal Commits & I got nothing. Who should we be watching out for on your squad?

That's all I've got. What or who say you, my WAC brethren?

RE: Who are you watching?
UTRGV has two im really looking at, Xavier McDaniel Jr and Terry Winn. Them, along with Dixon, will be key to not letting Green's departure set them back too far.

I have been high on Durham since he transfered to CSUB and now as maybe their best player, we will see what he can do. He is a darkhore for WAC POY. Joiner, the HS scoring phenom, is another I'm excited to watch if he doesnt RS. Spurned TCU and MTSU for Barnes and he put up numbers to make me think he will he a stud.

At GCU, Oscar Frayer's development and if he, as a sophomore, takes steps towards becoming an elite WAC player (much like FOY Matej Kavas).

Utah Valley, I have two. The 4-star Brandon Randolph is rarely talked about on here and he deserves more credit. Now as a 5th year senior I think he takes more steps forward and easily could find himself on WAC 1st team. Dare I say POY? Jerelle DeBerry, a 3 star grad (I think) transfer from Kent State, intrigues me as well. Only played one collegiate season and now is a senior but coming off the bench could be a nice role player.

NMSU's Sidy Ndir is my pick for WAC POY if he stays healthy. The talk is all on Lofton, but like Frank, I am very high on AJ Harris as well (Buckeye bias?). NMSU is my pick to win the WAC Tourny, regular season wouldnt shock me or anyone, and I think itll be more due to Harris/Ndir than anyone else. Man, the GCU/NMSU Vegas games will be unlike anything the modern-day WAC has seen before.

Honestly, no current players who will play this season intrigue me at Chicago State or UMKC. I do think Fred Sims is overrated though, much like Montez Harrison was.

RE: Who are you watching?
My non-Aggie players to watch...

GCU - Josh Braun and Matt Jackson. Braun came on late last season but he has been hamped with knee injuries. He had an outstanding freshman year but has grown only incrementally since then. He plays at a great level currently but I am curious if he has a little more in the tank this season. Matt Jackson is a player I expected to have a breakout season last season. However, back problems have slowed his impact. If healthy, I think Jackson gives GCU a legit "stretch" power forward who can be a defensive nightmare. I guess we will see.

CSUB - Shon Briggs and Moataz Aly. I was impressed with Briggs late season impact. He is a skilled mid range threat as an undersized power forward. I expect his numbers to jump substantially this season. I wonder if Aly will become an offensive threat? He has a lot of athleticism but it seem to be only used defensively.

Seattle - Aaron Menzies. He showed great improvement from his freshman year to his sophomore season. I wonder if anyone in the WAC has an answer for his size. I expect him to influence the outcome of many WAC games.

UVU - Connor Toolson and Akolda Manyang. Toolson won a highschool national championship and a JC national championship in successive seasons before struggling last season. I think he is the best player on the UVU team. So, I expect a much more lethal three shooting effort from him this season. As for Manyang, he gives UVU a potential rim protector. Last season, UVU's defense was lacking most nights. I wonder if his presence will cure that ill.

UTRGV - Terry Winn. I wonder how this ex-Miners will impact their offense. I feel he is already UTRGV's best interior player.

RE: Who are you watching?
I'm looking forward to watching the best back court in the WAC with AJ Harris, Sidy Ndir, and Zach Lofton. Add in Eli Chuha and I'm interested in seeing which player WAC coaches plan to key on.

RE: Who are you watching?
Here is another player no one is talking about, even NMSU fans.

Johnathon Wilkins (6'10 Sr) who averaged 5.5 points per game last season. I think the kid is going to have a break out year. Why?

Last season he shot 55% from the field, and 35% from 3pt. I think the kid is due to have a double digit scoring year. If he can continue to hit the 3 consitently like he did toward the end of last season, he will be one scary match-up problem.

Wilkens has shown sparks of being great, just needs to be consistent. Maybe Jans can get something out of him Menzies and the Traitor could not?

RE: Who are you watching?
UTRGV - Jordan Jackson - Looks like one of the most athletic guys we've had in a long time. I think he will more than make up for the loss of green.

GCU - Casey Benson - Half the board has him as a total bust the other half has him POY.

NMSU- Zach Lofton - CA has the Stephen A Smith curse. Every time someone new comes in and he says he is going to dominate the wac, they end up sucking. This year CA has chosen Lofton.

CSUB - Taze Moore - This guy was about to join us but Hipsher was such a bad coach he ended up going to Bakersfield.

Seattle -Don't really know much about any of the seattle players.

UVU - Kenneth Ogbe - This guy impressed me the most of anyone on uvu.

UMKC- The guy who shot 20% from the free throw line. How can anyone possibly be that bad at free throws.

Chicago st- Fred Sims jr - If he tested the waters for the draft then this is probably his last year. I see him going overseas.

I actually never said that Zach Lofton would dominate the WAC. I said that Eli Chuha is going dominate. I believe Lofton gives NMSU another scoring threat at the guard position. Harris, Ndir, and Lofton is going to be a good trio.

This is a thread about talking about teams that aren't your own Frank. Go ahead try it. Says a lot that you can't even do it.

To be honest, I really don't care to much about the rest of the WAC. The thread says, "Who are you watching?. I'm watching my own team. I could care less what is happening in Bakersfield or Phoenix.

I agree with you. He came into New Mexico State as being highly recruited. I think with the good coaching of Jans, I think he'll have a solid season. I'm not saying he will be All-WAC but 10/5 is a good prediction for him if he can be more consistent.

If you don't care about the rest of the WAC then why are you on a board about the WAC? That's a legitimate question. What makes this board interesting is the mostly objective back and forth about all the teams. I'm as big an Aggie fan as there is and I can barely tolerate the "stuff" you post on this board. It's great to be a fan and root for your team. It's insufferable to spend all your time rubbing everyone's noses in any and all things related to your team.

Frank does make it very easy to hate NMSU, and hard to ever root for them in anything at all honestly. Even in OOC and postseason. Only WAC/Sun Belt football school I feel that way about, honestly. But I do love talking WAC with all other Aggies fans. And Frank if he is ever logical
