On a related sad trombone note, the Miami Hawk talk new board has a photo banner of a pic of the last time they won. Those guys in the photo are all about 35 years old now.

Its almost to the point that a Miami student has not/cannot recall a MU victory in their lifetime. An 21-22 year might remember if they were follow the Redhawks back then, but an 18 year old freshman probably has very little recall.

Same the with the Syracuse Orange or the St Johns Red Storm... Whatever the hell either of those are supposed to be.
I always felt like William and Mary calling themselves "The tribe" was way more offensive than either the "redmen" or the
"orangemen". If you're familiar with the school, William and Mary was basically used to re-educate "savages" and rob them of their culture and religion.

My favorite is the Stanford Indians. In 1972 they decided "Indians" was offensive and then decided to copy Harvard and Chicago. Hmm, what's another shade of Crimson or Maroon? It's part of their whole "Harvard is the Stanford of the East" inferiority complex.
