This is as good as doomporn. I mean, I thought the same thing after reading Rath's OP. I work with several Michiganders and now that game looks ugly. Snuffy Smith got us up a crick. But we will STILL look 10X better than what ever that was last year. #getajob

RE: Roster
Buck up gents! Look, there's a lot of unknowns and moving parts to this and the Cats have quite a range of wins that are possible. We know this....they will win at least 5 games. Take that to the bank! Over the past 20 seasons, the Cats have only won less than 5 games five times:

2016 - 4
2010 - 4
2005 - 4
1999 - 3
1998 - 2

I honestly believe if it wasn't for Flaccidville, we would have won more than 4 games this past season. Throw that one out as a mulligan from the master putting green napper. CLF will have these guys playing above their talent level in team, effort and football IQ.

Beyond five wins who the heck knows until we hit the season full on after seeing how we come out of Camp Higher Ground injuries-wise.

RE: Roster
Can we talk about redshirts? Is CLF going to be the guy who redshirts everyone. Or, because of how thin we are do you expect to see some freshmen play this year?

I have to admit, I'm really not very familiar with this year's team despite being a season ticket holder. I just checked out last year and didn't really follow them as closely as I have in the past. Looking forward to getting to know more about the guys.

Not in this first class. I bet there are 4-5 true freshman who will be forced into action early and often.

Going forward I think you will see several each class who letter in their first year rather than redshirting. CLF is more of a come in and earn it if you want type of guy.

I think this is yet to be seen. Fickell doesn't have a track record to go on and he hasn't said anything publically. If I would have to venture a guess, based on other thing he has said and what he stands for, my guess is that CLF is the kind of coach that will play the best players regardless of class. While redshirting is not unique, most coaches don't just arbitrarily redshirt entire classes (the other exception we had under TT were thin position groups such as WR last year when he played Jerron Rollins and Thomas Geddis, or at LB were we were decimated by injuries and lifted Perry Young's RS).

But man did those two look good against Tulsa. I'm thinking our WR's will be one of our top position groups this year.

Also, great sig pic 04-cheers

I'd like to publicly apologize for calling out Stout for leaving the team. I assumed that it was because he didn't want to be here, but not medical.

Don't drink and messageboard, apparently.

I haven't seen the reason - was it medical? Also, is Alex Thomas gone or just suspended? It sounds like he was caught red-handed and was acting very stupid. I didn't know if he was kicked out or if he was just suspended.

If there is clear video of him with a gun in UPA (pseudo-school residence halls) there is no way he's back at UC in any capacity. Aggravated anything is about the most serious thing you can do on a college campus outside of rape and murder. I know there is a zero tolerance weapon policy in residence halls in Ohio, so he should be gone if that's him even if he is found not guilty.

How about Stout? I didn't see anything anywhere about medical, just that he left. Any insight about this?

It's definitely medical. Hopefully more will come out, but best of healing to the young man.

Well, CLF answered this question in his interview today.

"We don't want to redshirt...We recruit these guys to play"

Well, ok then. I find his clear honest answers to questions refreshing.

I think if they aren't good enough to scratch the 2 deep, they'll be redshirted. It's nice to not have the Marvin Lewis approach to first year players.
