Not a good timeframe to be bragging about. Viewed uncharitably, people could wonder whether Tulsa was stuffing teams with draft dodgers too scared to serve their country...

Did you really just use The Oil Bowl and New Year's Day game in the same sentence when that sentence wasn't, "The Oil Bowl was a ****** bowl that lasted only 3 years and was played on New Year's Day."?

Maybe they did. Who knows? But couldn't you say the same for the teams they were playing in those bowls? I believe Tulsa didn't field a team 1 or 2 years during WWI. That or they were bad for lack of players.

Or they were students who were getting degrees in the petroleum field to help with the war effort.

Originally it was football but clearly that was a mistake - knowing what is known now I suspect there would be no invite and they'd still be in CUSA.

Maybe not for long! Don't forget that the AAC adopted the old Big East bylaws. ECU could very well become the next Temple. COGS

True, don't want to continually finish with a losing record in football, like for the past five seasons, and get kicked out .....

You should do your homework. Temple did lose a lot, but was ultimately kicked out because the conference felt like they weren't putting in any effort to improve the situation. Womp womp.

Temple football is what got them kicked out. I know this ain't JalapeƱo Mac n' Cheese but try and keep up. Five straight loosing season's ain't exactly "putting in any effort".

No. Temple got kicked out for not putting money into facilities and building a stadium and for absolutely dismal attendance. Sure, kick out the school with by far the best attendance numbers in the conference because it's had 2 bad years. Brilliant idea.
