If your coach can't go undefeated in SBC with this team he needs to resign as OC/QB Coach, which is what he is in 2017.

You guys let him get by winning 7 regular season games with a team that should have won 10-11 games, and HE added insult to injury by losing to UCA. Should have won at least eight game with a chimpanzee as your HC.

When are you guys going to hold him accountable?

Well, I understand they were fresh out of chimpanzees.

Actually the chimpanzees remark supposedly came from one of the big wigs at A-State after the end of the regular season(but said 7 wins not 8), and included a comment that it did not have to be a particularly smart one.

In the Jonesboro Sun Today their AD was discussing scheduling UCA and he did mention that he was not happy with the loss to UCA, and even less so with the loss to ULL, and IMO should have thrown in the loss to a pathetic Utah State.

That all of these program damaging losses came in the third year with a team that their HC said was "Dallas or Bust" made it particularly galling. Undermined the people that defended Anderson losses to a mediocre AppSt, and Texas St team in hiss first year, which they contributed to the fact their newly minted HC did not have a clue what he was doing but would get better with time.

Is Anderson not thought of very highly in Jonesboro?

He's fine. SI is being SI again. Yes, there are a lot of folks who feel he should be further along even if he is in his first head coaching gig. His experiment of be a player's buddy, go home at 5 and be with your family coaching had some obvious flaws and they showed up early in the season last year. The majority of us non-big-wigs are waiting to see how things go this season. Especially in out of conference play. If there isn't major improvement I suspect the war drums for his removal might begin to beat.

RE: Phil Steele Preseason Magazine
Anderson's problem is that in that "small group" are people who can do more than "ask" that changes be made.

Even setting aside the fact that some of them feel "strongly" that the 2016 team could have won 7 games with a chimpanzee as HC, and the fact that a chimpanzee should be smart enough to not to say some of the things he has said during his tenure as HC, they are especially pissed that have not seen anything resembling the offense they expected when they hired him.

Think Anderson, even though he is a little thick headed and arrogant, as most head coaches are, now realizes it is in his best interest to show them that offense.......... ASAP.

He also realizes that they are not going to back-off their goal of being the best G5 team, and feel if they invest enough to recruit 10 win talent, they want a coach that can get them 11 wins, not 7. Maybe even 12 every once in a while.

He also realizes, perhaps to late, that losing to UCA is a big No-No.
