That would be a great game, both by the merit of the teams themselves as well as the (admittedly short) history we have. Plus, that would be on ABC, right? Would love to see Tech there. That said, I'm rooting for a game within driving distance so that I can actually go!

I would say there's no way they'd match us up against a team we'll meet in the regular season, but they did it last year with UNT and Army. I wouldn't mind, Dallas is closer than Albuquerque though ABQ has better food.

I think we'll be either 5-7 on the outside or 7-5 with another low-level bowl berth. Preseason losses + potential QB hiccups = not a steak and cigars kind of season

Look, based on the results alone, ODU should, certainly be picked before us. FAU had gone 3-9, 3-9, 3-9 the last three years. We did not do a thing to be picked ahead of ODU in the field of play.

HOWEVER, we do return 20 of the 22 starters and our QB situation, while somewhat foggy, is still better than ODU's. We have two QBs competing for the starting position, which would both be better than what ODU has. Additionally, we have picked up Kiffen.

So, there you have it. Do we deserve to be picked before ODU? No. But could we be a greatly improved team in 2017? Yes.

Bright future ahead for UTSA. HoD isn't out of the realm of possibility.

I agree, the future appears bright for UTSA, but North Texas is also headed in the right direction. And we appear to have a better team this season too. Plus, this year UTSA has to come to Denton. The HOD is certainly in our plans too.

I think North Texas and UTSA are building one of the best rivalries not only in C-USA, but the whole state of Texas.

I have my sleeper pick ;-)

North Texas drew some respectable crowds to the New Orleans Bowl in 2001-2004, but obviously we will draw better for a bowl in our backyard.
