I wouldn't bet the farm on Woodall. Beckwith, Cunningham, and Gore are safer picks to get drafted then him.

We expect USA Catcher Jared Barnes to go in the top 10 rounds. He is a Junior.

One of our signees was just selected in the 5th Rd as the #145 pick.

Do the draftees always go directly into the farm system?

Arkansas State reliever Tyler Zuber is the first Sun Belter off the board in the 6th round to the KC Royals.

Not bad for a dude that wasn't even all conference.

A lot of layers here so I'm not sure what you're asking...

Just because someone is drafted doesn't mean that they'll sign. A high school kid or an underclassman can reject the team's offer and either go to college or continue to play in college. Seniors have a lot less leverage in signing negotiations because the teams know their eligibility is up. They can opt to not sign and sit out a year or play overseas and re-enter the draft next year, but that never really happens.

If you're asking if there are ever draftees that go straight to the majors and skip MiLB - yeah, it happens but it's very rare. Here is a list of players who have done it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ba...e_Baseball

If you're asking if a draftee goes immediately after being drafted to join a farm team - yeah, but it depends where they're going. If they're going to be placed in double A or triple A (very rare) or in Class-A Advanced or full-season Class A (also rare), once they sign, they will leave to join the team. Most of the time though, once they sign, they will be assigned to a shorten season in either Rookie ball or Class A Shortened season. Those leagues run from Mid-June to September.

No surprise that Astate leads the way again for the league.

This time in a sport we aren't even good at.

Unlike many other sports, MLB draft will judge a lot on potential, not results. We had a pitcher several years back taken with a poor W-L record and an ERA above 5, close to 6 IIRC. He always had potential and he was one of our higher draft picks.

I'm really surprised no one is taking a punt on Cleveland yet.

RE: MLB Draft
Jordan Wren OF taken in the 10th by the Red Sox. Jordan is brother to Kyle and Colby, who were standouts at Tech, and son of Frank Wren executive for the... Red Sox! So that explains the interest.
