Alsu Bogdanova took the Silver Medal in the women's finals of the 5,000 meter race in Eugene, Oregon.

Dear Ken,
They don't give medals at the NCAA meet.

The MAC fared well--2-3(?) champs, a number of 2-3-4 finishers. Many All-Americans. KSU finished in the top 20 overall, best placing among MAC teams

Actual team finishes for MAC schools:
Women: KSU--13th, EMU--32nd, NIU--52nd.
Men: Akron--17th, KSU--26th, Miami--65th.

I think gold/silver/bronze has become pretty much generic for 1,2,3 in T and F. Everyone knew it meant second place.
