I just returned from BB&T and Mike gets huge props from me for selecting a top notch facility for MBB while the Shoe gets its makeover. No doubt in my mind this is by far the best alternative that was available.
Was there tonight as well . Enjoyed the place and picked out the general area of the our seats that won't break the bank. So yeah I'll give props to Mike for the choice of arenas. Although the 1 hour trip from Mason at 4:30pm was a pain.

I came from West Chester. Could not have been much closer than you. I-275 to avoid the cluster at I-71/I-471 downtown. Did not have a clock on our trip but I'm guessing ~45 min.

Used to work in Mason while living in Covington. That commute was 7 months of torture.

Even using 275 it would still be closer to an hour than 45 minutes most days, but it'll be worth it. Of course I am less than 15 minutes from BB&T, so...

Thinking most game times will be around 7 pm or weekends, so traffic shouldn't be too bad I wouldn't think.

Agree with Crew and Ragpicker. The poll should have an option for "don't know" or "no opinion" or "not enough information," etc. I think the jury is still out on Bohn but he certainly hasn't done anything on either end of the spectrum to illicit a strong response IMO. The Fickell hire aside, he has kept the ship afloat and been luke warm water to this point. Some of you are in the know but he seems to be more comfortable behind the scenes and does not come across as a get out in front kind of guy. Just an observation from afar.

Not sure what the problem is with volleyball. They took a step back when Alvey was first hired, but they have been steadily improving. Finished last season 22-10, 17-3 in conference, 38 in the RPI, and made it into the NCAA tournament.
As far as Bohn goes, I am not a fan. The few times I have interacted with him face to face I just find him to be completely full of crap. I am glad he got rid of Tubs and seemingly made a good hire, but hard to judge his full body of work at this point in time.
