All things considered
The Bearcats went 4-8 last year without any real coaching or direction. Their only goal was to beat Houston and Purdue. They really had a chance to beat Houston.

I'm saying this because UC had the talent last year to win 4 games with no coaching. I believe they bring much of that talent back this year with a real strength and conditioning program, coaches who actual want to be at UC, and a head coach who has a plan, agenda, direction, and goals for the team. I think this team is really going open people's eyes.

I know we need to see how these coaches coach in game first but this team is going to play with a fierceness and passion that I believe will win them some games.

The issue right now is, who plays qb and do we have a serviceable D1 college qb?

The roster has some big holes and limitations that this staff is filling in. We'll be better and will be watchable even in loses. Last couple of years there were large numbers of games that I simply had no interest in watching since they were so woefully prepared. Made my eyes bleed.

Most definitely. We are basically returning the same pieces on offense that spent six weeks in the middle of the season last year only scoring 9, 13, 3, 3 and 7 points last year (that's not even counting games against Houston and USF where we were shut out in the second half or the TN-Martin game where we could not score in the 1st half).

The one saving grace for me is that at times this group could move the ball in between the 20s but just could not finish (usually would turn the ball over or screw the pooch in some other fashion). That is something that is fixable with coaching and attitude.

Keep in mind we were rotating three quarterbacks with an offensive line that seemed like they weren't coached all that well. There was a reason fickle cleaned house. If was taking over this program I would not have retained the online coach and the quarterbacks coach without a second thought. I would have got rid of everybody, but those two would have been the first to go. I can't remember if the offensive coordinator was also the quarterbacks coach.
