Series With Cuse
Hearing in the works for games in the next few seasons. Both schools have holes to fill.

That's a good OOC game for us. Not a blood money game, but still a respectable opponent.

Thats the type of opponent we should be able to get to Waldo, hopefully its not a straight buy game.

No...Cuse will definitely travel to WMU (we recruit MI and Chicago pretty heavily).

Could be a 2 or 3 game series. First game is expected in 2018.

They don't have an opening until 2020.

Hmmm who doesn't have an opening? Cuse schedules 4 OOC games a season...the ACC only plays 8 league games.

This will be a good series, considering we're already competing with them quite regularly these days in the recruiting realm.

Babers is going to have the Orange flying up and down the field. Would be a very tough series to get a win in as long as he is there.

I spent my childhood years in Syracuse so I'm very excited about these future games.

Syracuse is a nice tradition, reasonable drive, big conference that isn't the P1G. I like it. Hope we can take our basketball team up there as well.

This.

Bad timing. Any other stretch I would've been in favor of this series.

A home and home series is great. Have a legit shot at them to open the season. Will be tough to compete with them at their place though.

Should be a good series. Lots of Cuse/WMU connections in the series. I expect to drive over from my summer home...hopefully my tailgate will be around 80-100.

Can one of you guys give me a quick primer on where visitors sit and where do we tailgate? How many hours early do your lots open? Is there a tailgate lot we can buy prepaid passes?

I highly recommend you guys drive over in 2019. If this fall in place as expected you will be the first game in the Dome with A/C and a new hard roof. Details still being formed but it (roof) should be like the Vikings new stadium.

The best tailgates are off Oakland Drive and Oliver Street (that general area). Easier to spread out in the grass vs. the paved lots. Avoid the student tailgate area (lot 105) by the Health & Human Services building. Tailgate policy is technically four hours prior to kick-off:
https://wmich.edu/tailgate

Visitors typically sit press box side, lower left near the goal line area. Best place to be is on the press box side (students take up the opposite side, and end zone seating area isn't the greatest).

If your dome is gonna be like the Viking's stadium, that's quite impressive! Would love Syracuse fans to come hang out in Kalamazoo and see our campus, Waldo and the downtown area... I may follow the Broncos to Syracuse as well... Didn't you folks play cMU a couple years ago in mt. pleasant? How'd you feel about that visit? (Kudos for blowing out the chips by the way...)

We are hoping they go with EFTE for the roof. The Carrier Dome is the last large Dome using the air supported roof.

http://www.archdaily.com/784723/etfe-the...te-polymer

We played at CMU...a few years ago (2014?). Won like 40-3...but the game was closer than the score indicated. Their stadium was ok but it was an unusually cold mid September morning...windy and low/mid 40s. It finally warmed up a bit by kickoff. I had no issues with them...but it was kinda a small crowd that day.

However, they came to the Dome in 2015 and #44 (Stanitzek) teed off on our QB well after he released the ball. He knocked him out with a concussion and our season went to crap as we were down to walkon QBs and recruited QBs who were not ready. CMU is coming back to the Dome to finish up the 2-1 and the fans are waiting for this player.

You can clearly see Dungey released the ball was being tackled and 44 loaded up and gave our QB Dungey a head snapping 2 hand shiver to his helmet.

BTW, you got some really good coaches from Syracuse...they should do well for you. Also, Drew Robinson is a good guy.
