I expect to bring a fairly large group of fans...minimum 50 but could be up to 100. The tailgate lots look spread over among the east and west side. Are all the lots cash lots day of the game? If so how much?
Is there a lot that is walkable (less than 3/4miles) that should be pretty easy to organize /set up at?
Are there any lots we can pre-purchase parking passes to?
Can we arrive 5-6 hours prior to kickoff and start setting up at any of the lots?
The lots near the buildings...do they allow folks to use the bathrooms inside or is it porta-potty hell?
Food question: What should be eat in Kalamazoo that is a local specialty? Any local coney, sausage you guys recommend?
Our tailgate will be open to Bronco fans...we'll most likely bring over some Upsate NY coneys to grill.
Coneys really aren't a big thing in Kalamazoo. They're more of a Detroit specialty.
I'll agree with some of the other posts. You're best bet for tailgating is the Oakland Drive lots. I don't think you can pre-pay.
If you like beer, you gotta check out Bell's. It's seriously one of the best breweries in the nation.
For breakfast, it might not be the best bet for a large group because it's so small, but Maggie's (on Stadium) is really good. Get yourself the Breakfast Stew. You won't be disappointed.
I think Bimbo's is the best pizza in Kalamazoo. But, I'm sure everyone has different opinions. It's also located downtown w/ a lot of other stuff around.
Hopcat is a fun place to go for food & drinks. They're becoming a thing in Michigan big cities: Grand Rapids, Detroit, Ann Arbor, KZoo. That's also downtown.
Downtown Kalamazoo has exploded in the last 10 years. Lots of cool bars & restuarants.
