its cause no one but the super sick or super subsidized is buying their policies.

Super Sick will pay whatever because they have to and super subsidized don't really care as long as their subsidy will make it affordable for them. Its those in the middle that just take their ball and go home.

and because Trump is ending those Obama backdoor payments to the insurance companies. You know, the ones he said he would backdoor around the law if the carriers would keep the rates artificially low so that the grubers didnt get exposed to the real rates too soon. Now that those are gone, the carriers are like "yea, screw this."

Better idea, have North Carolina's state program version of Medicaid (if one exists ... if not, create one) provide a public option for the individual market, if no reasonably priced private option is possible.

They better not pull this **** in SC too. BCBS of SC's cheapest crappiest ObamaCare plan is now almost break even in price with the cost of getting coverage on the South Carolina High Risk Pool they ran before ObamaCare.

I highly doubt the state could support that without charging exorbitant premiums which would put us in the same boat we are in now, people not being able to afford the insurance.

Also NC Medicaid was a financial disaster and adding more passengers to the ship would financially cripple the state.

And how were bonuses and executive compensation looking at BCBS NC? How about the reserves?

The only solution is single payer. The private system doesn't work because they're just looting the system.

If they were able to keep their companies afloat during the Obamacare debacle, they deserve big bonuses.

So Grayson was correct when it comes to the Republican healthcare plan- don't get sick but if you do die quickly.

If you are quoting Grayson, you need a mental evaluation.

How long do you reserves would last with annual losses in the 8 digit range

Really long if BCBS didn't create different pools to capture all the people who make claims into one pool and then claim they're losing money

Basically its 2 year process

Year 1 - Create only 1 plan that actually covers hospitals that sick people need. Make the plan really expensive. Only those who really need to use the plan will use it

Year 2 - Hey, our plan is losing money!

---

The reserves will keep people insured longer if the people who paid them actually get to use them.

Maybe Pelosi and the gang should have read the plan BEFORE they passed it. Those that did said this is where it would end up. Higher prices. Cant keep your doctor. Unafordable to most. Pelosi's killling folks with a smile and a hug.
