If true this is true Mike Bohn pulled off one heck of a coup. Xavier was just playing in the regional finals of the NCAAT a few days ago. Talk about sticking a needle in the eye of XU and their fans.

(4) NCAA tournament appearances since 2009.

• 2016 BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year
• 2009 ABCA Mideast Region Coach of the Year
• 2008 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year
• Four NCAA Tournament appearances (2017,2016, 2014, 2009)
• Two BIG EAST Tournament Championships (2016, 2014)
• BIG EAST Regular Season Championship (2016)
• Atlantic 10 Tournament Championship (2009)
• Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championship (2008)
• Xavier's first NCAA Tournament win in baseball
• 11 players selected in the MLB First Year Player Draft since 2005
• Highest MLB Draft pick in school history (Seth Willoughby, 4th round)
• Five 30-win seasons (2016, 2014, 2013, 2011, 2009)
• Googins' teams have recorded five of the 10 winningest seasons in school history
• School record 39 wins in 2009
• Produced program's second Louisville Slugger All-American (Andre Jernigan, 2016)
• Produced program's first Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American (Nate Soria, 2015)

So he goes to the NCAA tournament about every other year. I could live with that if he can repeat his success at Xavier.

He could come in and lose every game next year, and this alone would be worth it.

Can confirm what's being reported on Twitter, UC to name Scott Googins as their head baseball coach this week, per multiple sources.

Edit:

Had many coaches tell me Univ. of Cincy in couple years may end up in major conference, which could be huge. Take that for what its worth.

Interesting too the blurb about "major conference". Under current conference circumstances, intuitively at least, it would seem the AAC is a much better baseball conference than the new Big East. Schools in Carolina, Florida and Texas would have a competitive advantage over a northeast/midwest based league. This is exciting off-season news.

False alarm. I guess he already bought another house in northern Kentucky. Damn.

I guess he doesn't "wear Cincinnati".
