I am cool with it. The recruiting angle is old. That hasn't stop most these Memphis kids going to SEC schools even during Pastner's time here.

Ya gotta start somewhere. Maybe we'll be good in a couple of years and kick the crap out of 'em at their place. That ought to start something. We need some kind of rivalries, I mean, unless Central Florida does it for you.

Tubby quotes are nails on a chalkboard to me at this point. The more he talks the more I hate the hire. He basically wants to schedule as many SEC schools as possible to try and build up attendance at FEF. I think we proved years ago with football that the best way to build up your program is to just schedule sec schools right?

Speaking of football, don't they also owe us a football game.

Hahahahahahah. Arkansas is comparable to those schools now? You are a trip.

I am not going down this road again on this board. It is a waste of time. There are schools with national brands we can get on the schedule. The sec way is the tried and true lazy ass way of doing it. Been there, got the tshirt.

Lol. you are to easy. You don't know the dynamics that went into those teams agreeing to play us home and home in football. They aren't going to do that in basketball with us.

Plus we really need an upgrade to the home schedule - hope TN and Vandy are also added.

I honestly would have preferred pretty much any P5 school over Arkansas. Hell, get Kansas on the schedule. I'm sure they'd love a homecoming game for their team.

In a sense, but not officially or legally. UA contracted to play Memphis at Memphis as the last game of the contract series. UA reneged but instead paid Memphis a pre-determined sum, probably negotiated in the contract. So unlike UTK which has paid nothing & still hasn't played a game at Memphis due on the last contract, UA did fulfill its contract obligation by paying their way out of the game.

If we get that good, we won't need them any more, and in the interim, we'll have improved our schedule, attendance and RIP. Sounds like a win to me. Your opinion may vary.

Determine the reasons Arkansas or other regional SEC schools offer to play us and therein lies the reasons we should be very careful about accepting their offer. The strategic advantages must outweigh the strategic disadvantages.
