Exclamation Air Force/Army/Navy/Hawaii games on CBS in 0 week
Army Navy and Air Force have games vs Hawaii in the future. With the new 0 week rule starting next year, can Navy vs Air Force or Army vs Air Force be scheduled for 0 week and be broadcast on CBS? Is there any contract rules against this? Could Army/Air Force/Navy vs Notre Dame be scheduled here on CBS when any of them play at Hawaii?
Cheers!

My understanding is that as long as the home team plays AT Hawaii in the same season, yes, they can schedule that game in week 0.

Hmmm. Is the Week 0 waiver the eventual answer for the Army-NAvy game? We came pretty close to the "black swan perfect storm" this year, where NAvy gets the Access Bowl nod in a close decision over Mumblemumble, then goes out and loses to Army.

You know I wasn't even going there with this (I was mostly just looking for ways for Army to maximize the Air Force game) but you might be on to something!
Cheers!

Bumping this. I haven't seen any games listed on free CBS yet. Can a non-SEC home game be put on CBS? (Not counting Army/Navy/AF) For example, can CBS choose to move USF @ San Jose St to CBS if it wanted to? Or does the SEC have an exclusive deal that only SEC home games are allowed on CBS?

There's a reason CBS doesn't schedule college football games in week 0: They have commitments to air the PGA Tour that week, plus they carry preseason NFL games that week too.

Rumors have been "flying" around the Tulsa area that local Top 25 Golf Course, Southern Hills CC is close to perhaps acquiring a PGA or 2 in the next 10 yrs.

We will know in a week or 2 after the Whatever the Big Announcement is going 2 B from Southern Hills CC in T-town

++++++
Tulsa World: Something major seems imminent for Southern Hills, and it could be a PGA Championship Published: May 19, 2017 9:04 AM CDT

In a compelling email, it was announced Southern Hills Country Club will be the site of a “fireside chat and news conference” May 30.

That in itself is interesting, but the significance of the event became apparent when the email reported participants will include Paul Levy, president of the PGA of America; Kerry Haigh, the chief championships officer of the PGA of America; and Craig Bothwell, president of Southern Hills Country Club.

Levy and Haigh wouldn’t travel to Tulsa for a discussion of anything below the level of major golf championships, and they wouldn’t be at Southern Hills unless Southern Hills had been identified as the site for an important tournament......Or tournaments.

An attempt to contact club general manager Nick Sidorakis was unsuccessful, but it is believed that Southern Hills might be designated for a Senior PGA Championship or another PGA Championship — or to host both events.

While the 2020, 2022 and 2024 Senior PGA Championship tournaments are set to be played in Benton Harbor, Michigan, the PGA of America has not yet announced the sites of the 2021 and 2023 tournaments.

The 2021 tournament would make sense for Tulsa. The next available PGA Championship year is 2024, so it seems unlikely the PGA of America would want Southern Hills to host the 2023 Senior PGA Championship and then hustle to prepare for the 2024 PGA Championship.

No - the Army / Navy TV contract has just been re-upped for 10 more years on the weekend after the conference championship games. 07-coffee3

No - see the Army / Navy game reason above. Also the Army / Air Force game always seems to be scheduled for the 1st weekend in November to help Army's scheduling when the other conference schools are playing each other and Army has a harder time scheduling games after conference play begins. They seem to play FCS teams in November too to fill out their schedules. 07-coffee3

Last year, I asked the question; Obviously, before the Army Navy contact had been re negotiated/extended. Earlier this month that info was made public. Now you are answering a question out of context wait after the fact. Why are you being obtuse? I've never had any problems with you. ????
Happy Memorial Day.

Not being obtuse - not being a problem. Stated it was the first time I ever saw the thread. Did not see the original date. Just replied to the original question. I don't reply to others opinions to make trouble or argue. I just reply to threads with my personal opinion or with information I believe to be true from articles I read on the subjects. Happy Memorial Day to you and your family too. 04-cheers 02-13-banana
