The if necessary game is scheduled for 1 PM today. Rain is in the forecast all day, so if the game does not get played, LSU advances to the super regional as they hold the tiebreaker over us as they are the highest remaining seed (both teams are 1-1 against each in the regional so the next tiebreaker is higher seed).

04-jawdrop That would be a crummy way to get sent home . . ..

Hope that the rain is NOT the determining factor, and that y'all can settle it on the field . . . Good luck

RE: NCAA Softball Tournament thread
It's 9 AM, radar shows solid rain from just west of Lafayette all the way back to east of San Antonio. Of course, all moving east.

Cajuns should have taken care of business Sunday, even if the game started at 10 freaking 30. Did not get it done in possibly their only chance. But that game was going to get played even if it went to 3 AM.

Here's the ONLY issue with that. Night before, NCAA informed everyone early LSU would not play the McNesse/Fairfield winner Saturday night, never taking into account McNeese or Fairfield could have run ruled the game. Cajuns were not afforded the same courtesy. But the precious SEC team got a free pass to rest, and did not have to sit out there waiting.

Is it just a Cajun thing with me? No, it could had been Texas State, McNeese State, or even the political deep state. The system is set up to suppress the little guy. They could be playing right now. Just adds more reason to the "who I root for".

Those who think this may be funny, wait until your program gets jobbed, that is, unless, you're never in the hunt to begin with.

RE: NCAA Softball Tournament thread
It's really unusual to me that NCAA Softball has such a strict rule over when a regional must end when baseball doesn't. If anyone remembers, Coastal played in a regional in baseball last year that got constantly interrupted by rain, and ended up finishing on a Tuesday. Imagine if the NCAA had stopped play after Monday and declared the Higher Seed Champs.

I would the NCAA explain to the fans if the Cajuns are still winning when the rain gets there and they aren't at the official game point???

Need good, fast innings and this thing in.

Cajuns just got hosed. Even the ESPN announcers are crawfishing on a home run call for LSU.

"Let's hope the game does not decide on that".

Wheels coming off the bus now.

I have to say after watching the HR replay I do think it was a HR. The landing area of the ball tells the story I think.

I thought it was a home run watching it live and especially after seeing the replays. You can see the ball above the foul pole and then go behind it a split second later.

Homer or not, it didn't come in determining the outcome, Cajuns never came back to make a game of it

Here are shots from television camera behind first base dugout. I'm not one to blame a loss on one call, but man, this one lead to the wheels coming off the bus. Cajuns didn't respond and let this get them mentally. Picture upper right says it all.

I watched the game an saw the view shown on ESPN3, the ball was above the foul pole when it went over the fence. In the three twitter pictures do not even show the top of the foul pole and only show the location of the ball after it was past the foul pole.

This was not from an ESPN camera. The ball never topped the pole at the time it crossed the fence. Look at the two guys next to the pole, they are reaching for the ball on the foul side of the post. Doesn't change the outcome, the umps blew it.

Coach is ok with the call, he did not have the angle to see it. BUT he took a great shot at the NCAA that they could not defend. NCAA uses 3 umpires, the SBC uses four. A four person crew may have been able to confirm it where a 3 person crew was at a disadvantage. He drilled them multiple times saying the SBC can afford a four man crew but the NCAA cannot? He was very blunt to a point about that. SBC fans would have been proud.
