He must have slept through the 90's and 2000's. When Memphis was terrible just about every single year.
...and ECU's current 7 game winning streak over the Tigers.
we haven't played in football since CUSA...you guys should come check out the game in Memphis this season. You won't recognize Memphis football or even the Liberty Bowl with all the improvements.
Lipstick on a pig.
lol, your stadium is just as old as ours.
The Liberty Bowl was built in 1965 for under 3 million dollars.
Memphis invested 19.5 million in 1987 to renovate the Liberty Bowl.
Then from 2010-2016 almost 35 million was spent on improvements and renovations.
recent bowl game visitors from TCU and WVU had nothing but nice things to say about the stadium.
I think he meant that the stadium is the lipstick...
Nothing but good things to say about the Liberty Bowl. However, I do have a question. I haven't payed close enough attention to the host sites of all these bowls. How many other college stadiums host bowls that the home team is not eligible to play in? Seems weird.
For instance:
Taxslayer Bowl: Florida eligible
New Mexico Bowl: New Mexico eligible
Boca Raton Bowl: FAU eligible
Idaho Potato Bowl: Boise State eligible
Dollar General Bowl: South Bama eligible
Hawaii Bowl: duh
Military Bowl: Navy eligible
Only others I can think of where the home team can't play are:
Birmingham Bowl that UAB can't play in
Independence Bowl that La Tech can't play in
Alamo Bowl - UTSA not invited
Sun Bowl - UTEP not eligible
Arizona Bowl - Arizona not invited
