That's the southeast regional cover. Still pretty cool.

From what I can gather its a very old publication that was big in the 70's and 80's but has lost much of it's appeal. I'd never heard of it until today and they don't appear to have a website.

Not taking anything away from APP, I don't think Troy's QB's have been featured on any magazine.

it didn't lose its appeal.

it was bought by the Sporting News maybe a decade ago and they changed the name to "Sporting News" Yearbook. Even though the insides were the same as Street and Smith's had been for years

Looks like now they are going back to the old name.

i always though they started showing up the end of May/first week of June.

But SN/S&S one always seemed to be a little later....maybe mid june.

Lindy's/Athlon's seemed to come first. And Phil Steele's was always way late. end of June or so.

Bunch of young uns on this board. 😀. S&S was THE authority in preseason magazines until American City Business Journals, who published The Sporting News, bought them in 2007. The Street & Smith name has actually been out there as publisher of the Sports Business Journal. Good to see them back!

My thoughts too. I think I still have some baseball Street and Smith's from the '60's. I bet the old Sporting News weekly tabloid would blow their minds. The baseball bible. Before the talking heads it was the way we kept up with Major League baseball when I wore a younger man's clothes.

Exactly. If you were a real baseball fan you subscribed to the Sporting News.
