Yes, we have a nice place to watch a ballgame (except no video board), but the player development facilities are about 2 decades behind most.

Which schools in CUSA have a video board?

Rice does I think. USM does not (maybe in a few years). Can't think of any others.

I'm sure it is a fine school, but their facilities when you look at things like this and their basketball arena, an off campus football arrangement, etc. - not ready for primetime. They have a lot of potential in football but that alone should not be a reason for the travel predicaments this league has put itself into. Has FIU ever built a facility for visiting football radio crews or do they still sit in the stands too?

Based off the twitter conversation at least FIU puts a tent over your head to keep you in the shade and out of the rain for the most part
How much does it cost to fix that? A halfg million? A million?

Then that makes me angry because performance doesn't match facility quality.

To be fair USM doesn't have several of the amenities you mentioned as Charlotte not having.....we have a covered hitting facility but it's not completely enclosed, we don't have a visitor's clubhouse, and I wouldn't call what we have a video board. We do have one of the better if not best pressbox and 12 suites. We have a weight room and locker room on site as give or take 15 years ago the locker room was across the street in the basketball arena while the weight room was halfway across campus at the football stadium. The stadium itself has undergone some "minor" renovations to where the bleacher and chairback seating are all connected so it's no longer 3 separate areas. Our baseball is probably in the top 2 or 3 in the conference but our basketball arena itself is probably, if not, the worst. Their locker rooms, weight room, training room, team meeting rooms are up there with some of the others in the conference but the part that everyone sees (the court and seating area) are by far 50 years behind the times.

Or you could just have NO ONE calling the games like the Marshall production had today.

UAB had announcers join the game in the 6th inning during one of our games a few weeks ago. Silence before that.

While I do agree, I doubt baseball is even a factor when considering moving to a new conference.

Didn't say that it was. In looking back I did reference facilities writ large - not just baseball - which absolutely should have been taken into consideration. That's how this league ended up with such illogical additions particularly during that first round.

then how come MT isnt above UTSA on the baseball standings?

I don't even know what that has to do with what I'm talking. You have a better record than Rice too, so it's not like that means much. If you want to compare our programs in the bigger picture instead of one season I'm happy to lay that out for you.

And I'm not saying C-USA should not have added UTSA, but it was clear the league was looking at bad data points when they made the decisions that were made. ODU and FIU should not be in a league with UTEP and UTSA. I have my own opinions on how it should have been done but I believe everyone would likely agree the strategy for C-USA expansion was a failed one.

Sorry, much of Marshall's athletic staff is in Lexington for the NCAA Softball Regional this weekend. The students that call games are out for the summer and, not sure about local commercial radio, but considering the time of day of first pitch, I doubt it was feasible.
