Alcoholics mostly. Third shifters as well (just usually on a Friday).

When I lived by the airport it was pretty crazy the number of guys and gals getting off work at 8am who'd stop by the local watering holes. You knew they were airport workers because they'd be wearing Northwest (now Delta) full body snowsuits from working on the tarmac.

One bar to the west of me a bit had a whole advertising campaign that was like "Stop in for a breakfast of chili and Hamms."

How can anyone go at a high speed in Times Square unless it's maybe 4 in the morning? Every time I've been there, traffic is crawling each direction. He certainly couldn't have been going very fast the wrong direction for very long. I think it's too early to completely blame it on drunk driving just because of the location (for another reason there is no parking next to any of the bars in downtown Manhattan so if he was drinking and had driven his car to the bar, it was likely in a location far away from Times Square).

I'm confused on some links. Was there a separate driving incident in Staten Island? Is the Hispanic looking individual with his arms raised in a couple of posts above the suspect or just a bystander?

Reading about it some more - looks to be an Hispanic male (26 years old) but not the guy in the brown shirt as this guy was wearing a red shirt (or I guess it is the same guy just bad color on one of the photos). Another tweet I just saw said he was high on synthetic marijuana and had driven down the wrong way for 3 blocks.

Very sad - the fatality was an 18 year old tourist from Michigan. Probably a high school senior on a senior trip to NYC.

If that's the case, it makes sense now. That stuff is really nasty. Just a bunch of weeds and plants sprayed haphazardly with random chemicals (passed off as "potpourri").

I figured that even a drunk would stop after hitting the first or second pedestrian. To go three blocks and run over 22 without slowing down, you either have to jacked up on some really hard drugs or willingly committing an act of murder/terrorism.

Man, I've seen Latino's do some impossible **** in automobiles. Seen a car on top of the security fence outside an apartment complex. Seen a car in a tree. The one on the fence was completely off the ground. Even had one fool slowly hit every car parked on the side of the road I think on Cinco de mayo. SMH

Kronke just posted a picture but it's hard to tell in my opinion the race of the person being arrested.

pants are saggy so I went black male.

I can't even see saggy pants. That said, we get plenty of Hispanics with saggy pants. Could be a Hispanic if we insist on speculating.

Saw a white guy sagging his pants at Walmart the other day. Could be him.

I thought we were supporting driving into crowds. Or is that just North Carolina?

That's not even funny.

This horrible event in Times Square looks like DWI, which kills *thousands of more people a year than terrorism* so we can ignore it.

Terrible video you could have warned us in advance. I'm not sure how anyone can prevent this type of attack.

Short of lining the sidewalk with bollards you can't.

So this was an attempted suicide by cop from a guy with substance abuse problems?
